NeoPollard Interactive Celebrates the New Hampshire Lottery’s Third Consecutive Year of Industry-Leading Success

LANSING, Michigan, October 18, 2021 /CNW/ – NeoPollard Interactive LLC (“NeoPollard Interactive” or “NPi”), jointly owned by Pollard Banknote Limited (“Pollard Banknote”; TSX: PBL) and NeoGames S.A. (Nasdaq: NGMS), congratulates the New Hampshire Lottery (“Lottery”) on its third consecutive year of industry-leading growth through the online channel. The New Hampshire Lottery’s program is the number two top-performing iLottery program in the U.S. based on per capita sales.

In Fiscal Year (“FY”) 2021, ending June 30, 2021, the New Hampshire Lottery’s net gaming revenue increased by 123% year-over-year, while simultaneously growing its retail instant sales by 18%. Since the initial launch of the Lottery’s program in FY19, net gaming revenue generated through iLottery has grown by an incredible 332%, firmly establishing the viability of modernizing lottery offerings through the iLottery channel in support of funding for education.

The New Hampshire Lottery continues to demonstrate its commitment to its players and to the growth of its iLottery program with recent launches of a new draw game online, as well as the latest progressive jackpot innovation from NPi. The latest addition to the Lottery’s draw game portfolio—Gimme 5—offers players up to five chances to win $100,000 each week and is an enhancement of NPi’s NeoDraw Central Gaming System and Gaming Systems Operations.

The Lottery also recently launched VIP Ultra—the first in a family of linked progressive jackpot games from NeoGames Studio. VIP Ultra is available on and allows players to share one rolling jackpot for all games in the series. Each ticket purchase contributes to a growing jackpot that resets once it is won. Additional progressive jackpot games are also scheduled to launch in the near future to add to the growing jackpot.

“The New Hampshire Lottery has proven to be a leader in the iLottery space since launching its iLottery program in partnership with NPi over three years ago. This was particularly evident through our joint appeal of the Federal Wire Act and ruling by the Department of Justice, which validated state-run lotteries’ ability to sell lottery products online,” said Liz Siver, General Manager of NeoPollard Interactive. “We are extremely proud of our successful partnership with the New Hampshire Lottery, and we remain dedicated to delivering cutting-edge technology, engaging game content, and value-added support through our Power Suite of iLottery services, to support a cause that we couldn’t be more passionate about—the important work that the New Hampshire Lottery does for education.”

David Knott Named as New National Lottery Community Fund CEO

LONDON, U.K. (October 18, 2021) – The National Lottery Community Fund has today announced my appointment as its new Chief Executive. I am honoured to be leading this incredible organisation, but a little daunted too, as our mission - helping people and communities to prosper and thrive - feels more needed than ever before and our funding is being made at a critical time for communities.

I joined the organisation towards the end of 2020. I’ve learnt that we are the largest UK-wide community funder and that our funding makes a real difference. Over the last five years we’ve backed more than 72,000 community projects through over £3.4bn of grants. We are here for the benefit of everyone, bringing a local approach to reach people and communities. Working with partners locally and nationally we’re able to spread good practice and deepen impact further. This makes us more than just a funder, playing an active role in curating and sharing evidence, learning and insight.

We are proud to have stood with communities during the terrible pandemic of the last 18 months. In all parts of the country, we moved swiftly to respond to the emergency, delivering a 40% increase in awards across the UK, with National Lottery funding working alongside additional funding on behalf of Governments in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The difference this has made can now be seen. Across the UK, we reached 10.9 million people. In England, an independent evaluation tells us not only was this a record-breaking year, but our operating model delivered strong value for money. This was a lifeline for the more than 4,000 charities that were able to continue to operate, offering vital frontline services that helped the most vulnerable at a time of great need.

As the new Chief Executive, I’m proud of this incredible effort and the professionalism and positive attitude of staff who made it possible. At the same time, I’m humbled by the response of the communities we support. The pandemic has brought into sharp focus something I think we all knew to be true, but too often hidden from view - that communities are the heart of our nation, full of the connections with people and places that give us meaning, purpose and belonging.

We have a major role to play in this new era of community renewal. At every step of the way you can rely on us to put communities first. What we’ve learned from many years still stands true - we will be open to all communities, respecting their starting point. We will use our funding to bring people and communities together. We will support ideas from communities. We will continue to be guided by the knowledge that when people take the lead, communities will prosper and thrive.

Today we are publishing Putting Communities First - Our Commitments. It sets out what our partners can expect from us over the year ahead. I can’t wait to see the many amazing community projects we’ll back, and to be part of important moments where we’ll help bring people together, like the Platinum Jubilee, Commonwealth Games and Festival 2022, a big focus across the wider National Lottery family.

As we look ahead, increasingly confident and clear about our purpose, we must match this passion for the difference our service brings with a commitment to being the best we can be within The National Lottery Community Fund. In my time here, I’ve seen what is great about this organisation, but I also know that it is vital we continue to learn and grow. Where there are things that we could do better, you will see me listening, learning and then helping the organisation to take it on.

Fairness and inclusion will be at the heart of this organisation, both in how we fund and how we behave as an employer. These will be priority areas as we move forward - I want to ensure we are the best we can be.

Veikkaus Reduces Workforce - Co-operation Negotiations Completed - the Goal is to Ensure Viable Veikkaus in the Future

HELSINKI, Finland (October 15, 2021) -- Veikkaus' co-operation negotiations, which began at the beginning of August, have been completed. They were driven by changes in the company's operating environment and declining business volume, especially in physical sales channels.

Sustainability measures have reduced the volume of play of Veikkaus' physical sales channels by about 40 percent, and Veikkaus must adjust its operations accordingly.

“Our goal is to renew and build a forward-looking, strongly vibrant Veikkaus: a responsible, modern and efficient company with the support of Finns,” says Jari Heino , Director of Channels and Sales .

About 830 people were involved in the negotiations.

“In addition to the actual negotiations, the guidelines for the future and the areas to be developed have been discussed with the staff in several presentations, discussions and staff information. Staff feedback and development suggestions were abundant and have been utilized in the design work where possible. Unfortunately, the adjustment of operations also means that the work of about 125–190 Veikkaus employees ends in Veikkaus, Heino says.

The exact number of terminating employment relationships is also affected by, among other things, decisions on accepting new job positions and titles offered to employees, as well as possible internal transfers within the company.

In addition, the terms and conditions of employment of about 50 employees and about 60-110 employees will change significantly. The new organization will take effect in January 2022 at the latest.

It is estimated that cost savings of approximately EUR 15 million will be generated by 2024 through streamlining operations and adjusting the number of employees. A significant part of the savings also consists of the fact that Veikkaus will close about 15 of its own gaming halls, the profitability of which will be reduced too low through responsibility measures.

Information on the gaming halls to be closed will be published on Veikkaus' website when more detailed closing times are known.

“The reforms are designed so that change support is available to those leaving the company. In principle, most of the Veikkaus employees who were involved in the negotiations are offered new positions within the company. For example, Casino Tampere, which opens in December, still needs several dozen gambling and customer service professionals. The responsible casino of the new era will provide a good framework and a job for many. Now it is important to look ahead and ensure Veikkaus' vitality today and tomorrow,” Heino says.
