The Esports Integrity Commission Update Regarding NA ESEA
LONDON, U.K. (August 23, 2021)
For some time now, ESIC has been
investigating several instances of match-fixing behaviour which took place in
the North American region amongst CS:GO players participating in an ESEA
tournament series. While this investigation is still ongoing, ESIC has made
this release for the purposes of issuing an interim update.
To date, this investigation has been
subject to significant cooperation with law enforcement agencies,
anti-corruption supporters, and other stakeholders in order to ensure that the
behaviour being perpetrated is thoroughly investigated and prosecuted under
ESICs Anti-Corruption Code.
As of the date of this interim
release, ESIC announces sanctions against three participants and is still in
the process of conducting 34 additional investigations relating to this
Notably, ESIC has observed
compelling evidence that suggests that organised crime groups and foreign
betting syndicates were involved in fraudulent activities during the course of
Season 35 of the ESEA Premier: North America.
In early 2021, in the course of our
existing investigation into allegations of match-fixing and betting fraud in
season 35 of the ESEA Premier, we were provided with a recording, a transcript
and other evidence relating to a conversation between members of one of the
teams in the competition, Rebirth. The conversation involved three members of
the team and also made reference to two players from an opposing team,
Russian Canadians. This recording, evidencing a conspiracy to
manipulate the outcome of matches in the tournament, was subsequently published
online in April 2021.
Prior to publication, ESIC was
treating this evidence as just one part of a far larger investigation involving
multiple players and teams and associated individuals in cooperation with law
enforcement and other stakeholders.
However, due to this part of the
investigation being put into the public domain, ESIC took the view that it
ought to be, if possible, dealt with separately and an outcome reached in the
public interest. Consequently, ESIC began a separate, but related,
investigation into the recording and the individuals involved and mentioned in
the conversation. This statement explains the conclusions and outcomes
ESIC emphasises that the remainder
of the larger investigation is ongoing and the outcomes announced in this
release may not be the final outcome for the various participants
INVESTIGATION OUTCOMES TO
ESIC has issued Notices of Charge
against the following individuals for breaches of the ESIC Anti-Corruption Code
and sanctioned each with the suspension from all ESIC member events for the
period specified in each case:

ZenSports Receives Its Nevada Gaming License!
WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (August 23,
2021) -- We are beyond thrilled to announce that ZenSports has officially
received its non-restricted gaming license from the Nevada Gaming Control
This is an absolutely huge milestone
for ZenSports and the state of Nevada. Its not easy to get a gaming
license in Nevada, and Nevada is the gold standard for licensing throughout the
world. We just went through the most rigorous set of investigations that exists
out there, which puts us in a great position to be able to get licensed in
other states throughout the U.S. as we grow and expand. Its also a huge
win for the state of Nevada because theyre getting an innovative,
hard-working company that is looking to grow and become an integral part of the
Nevada gaming ecosystem for many years to come.
In addition to ZenSports receiving
its non-restricted gaming licenses, key employees Etan Mizrahi-Shalom and
myself (both of us are Co-Founders of ZenSports) were found suitable by the
Nevada Gaming Control Board, which is an extremely rigorous process and which
now allows Etan and myself to operate gaming facilities and products throughout
the state of Nevada.
The non-restricted gaming license
will allow ZenSports to do the following within the state of Nevada:
- Exercise our option for the Big Wheel Casino that
we obtained from Strategic Gaming Management in July 2020.
- Begin operating our sports betting platform at the
Big Wheel Casino (pending final technical certification).
- Exercise our option with Strategic Gaming
Management to take over the sports book at Baldinis and operate ZenSports
from that location.
- Pursue additional sports betting locations and
expand ZenSports throughout Nevada as the company grows.
To begin with, ZenSports will only
offer its sports book and fiat funding options within Nevada. However, we will
seek approval for our peer-to-peer and cryptocurrency features in early 2022.
We wanted to get into the Nevada market as soon as possible and not wait for
additional approvals of our peer-to-peer and cryptocurrency features. Even just
our sports book and fiat solutions offer a better user experience and
performance than our competitors, so were confident we can win on those
features alone. And then once our peer-to-peer and cryptocurrency features are
approved in Nevada, it will be all the more rewarding for our Nevada customers
to have the best sports betting experience possible.
International vs US
As part of our strategy to focus and
expand within the U.S. market, we decided earlier this year to cease our
international operations. As a fast-growing startup, its important to
have laser-focus. The U.S. market is clearly the biggest opportunity for
growth, and we want to ensure that we have the utmost focus on executing on
that strategy. If and when we re-enter the international market in the future,
well focus on locations that have equally high opportunities. All future
international business by ZenSports would need to be first approved by U.S.
Again, we couldnt be more
excited to reach this tremendous milestone, and this is the first of many great
things to come for ZenSports as we grow and scale into the U.S. market.

Gaming Control Board Reports Record Monthly Revenue in
Table games revenue in
casinos hits all-time high as patrons come back to casinos
HARRISBURG, PA (August 18, 2021) --
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board posted reports today on its website that
show that the combined total revenue in July 2021 generated from all forms of
gaming regulated by the Board along with fantasy contests was $423,657,956.
That represents the highest monthly revenue total to date for games regulated
by the Board.
Sources of gaming revenue regulated
by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board include slot machines, table games,
internet casino-type gaming (iGaming), sports wagering, fantasy contests and
video gaming terminals (VGTs). The Board has posted separate reports for these
types of gaming on its website, https://gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov/.
The Board notes that revenue from
land-based casino games was particularly strong with monthly table games
achieving a record for revenue and slot machine revenue placing 4th all time
for a month.
In releasing the July figures, the
Board again noted that due to Covid-19 restrictions casinos were operating last
year with reduced slot and table games capacity and occupancy limits with two
facilities were closed for a portion July 2020:
- Rivers Casino Pittsburgh was closed from July 3 to
- Rivers Casino Philadelphia was closed from July 1
Therefore, while revenue comparisons
are made in this release against the previous year, to provide a fairer
comparison of this months revenue figures the Board is once again
providing, where appropriate, a comparison of this years revenue against
that of July 2019 when Covid-19 restrictions were not in place and all casinos
operated for the entirety of the month. Using that comparison, this
months total revenue was 51% above that of July 2019 when the total
revenue was $281,482,227.
Additionally, total tax revenue
before any adjustments was $174,655,135.
Revenue by Game Type
The Board is also providing a
synopsis of revenue year-over-year by types of games:
Slot Machine Revenue
Julys gross revenue from slot
machines was $222,874,389 an increase of 35% when compared to July 2020.
When comparing slot revenue from
July 2019 (pre-Covid-19 revenue) to July 2021 there was a 12% increase with
$199,607,005 in July 2019 compared $222,874,389 in July 2021.
The number of slot machines in
operation in July 2021 was 25,710.
Tax revenue from the play of slots
machines in July 2021 was $113,137,754*.
