The computer lab will allow the Middlebury Club to serve more than 1,500 children during the school year and summer.

The Middlebury donation is a continued commitment as part of IGT Indiana's After School Advantage (ASA) Program and is the sixth such donation in Indiana. As part of the donation, the Middlebury Club received 15 Chromebooks, professional software, Lego Educational programs, a smart TV, a Glowforge laser printer and other technology and equipment to carry out their mission.

“The Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County does a tremendous job serving our youth, and IGT Indiana is honored to provide computers and technology to the Club as part of our continued commitment to charitable giving within the communities we serve,” said Melissa Pursley, IGT Indiana’s Chief Operating Officer & General Manager. “We are excited to help the Boys & Girls Clubs carry out its mission by serving more than 1,500 children throughout the Middlebury area.”

As part of IGT Indiana’s ASA program, organizations are provided with state-of-the-art computers, printers, software, furniture and volunteer hours to non-profit organizations that sponsor educational programs throughout the State. The first two computer labs benefited Hoosier veterans through the Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation and the Donald W. Moreau, Sr. Veterans House. The third benefited youth through the Fort Wayne Urban League, and the fourth and fifth donations were partnerships with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Evansville and Montgomery County.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County began operations in 1956, and today the Clubs provide programming and services for the most at-risk boys and girls within the community.

Each day, the Clubs provide powerful relationships with the youth they serve and open avenues of opportunity for young people across their community by offering safe places where young people can learn, grow and succeed.

“IGT Indiana’s generous donation will greatly enhance the lives of our Middlebury Club members every year by providing them with access to the latest in advanced computer technology,” said Kevin Deary, Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County President and CEO.

“This act of kindness demonstrates how much the community cares about the future of our youth, and it will inspire the students to study more, set goals and follow their dreams.”

“Words cannot describe the excitement of our board, staff and the kids of our Middlebury Club. Education with STEM programming is vital in preparing our children for the future.

This lab allows us to show our kids, families and community that preparing our children for the future is our Club’s priority,” said Dean Miller, President of the Middlebury Club Board. “Thank you to IGT Indiana for your support of our kids who need us most.”

Celebration for the 250th Anniversary of the First Draw Brings the Higher Prize to Durango and Chihuahua

250 years after its first draw, the transformation of a strong, transparent, inclusive National Lottery with social contributions

MEXICO (May 18, 2021) -- The Loter í National devoted his Special Drawing No. 243 to the commemoration of the 250th anniversary celebration of the first draw, confirming that the institution has consolidated over the years as transparent entity, solid and provides trust between the Mexicans.

In this context, Margarita González Saravia Calderón, general director of the National Lottery, mentioned that the celebration frames the trajectory of the National Lottery as one of the oldest in the country, which implies a responsibility and social commitment of all those who comprise it.

Among them, the vendors, vendors, wallets, workers and screaming children: “who together form the heart of this noble institution”, he was right.

Saravia Calderón also shared: “Currently we hold 276 raffles each month between traditional and electronic.

With the merger process that we are carrying out, the organization will be strengthened, because they have designed a great marketing plan that will generate many more resources for the public finances aimed at social, health and public welfare programs.”

For her part, Alma Itzel De Lira Castillo, general director of Games and Raffles of the Ministry of the Interior, recognized the importance of preserving the historical heritage of the National Lottery, which includes events that are evidence of support for projects such as the sanctuary of the Virgen de Guadalupe, the Mexico-Toluca railway, the General Hospital, the remodeling of Paseo de la Reforma, the rebuilding of the Basilica of Guadalupe, the Morisco kiosk, among others.

Thus, he highlighted the figure of the Screaming Children as a symbol of transparency, legality and inclusion and showed that the celebration extends, celebrating the new stage of the institution that is being shaped with a cultural character and making historical memory visible.

During her speech, Irma Eréndira Sandoval Ballesteros, secretary of the Public Function, mentioned that in addition to the historical wealth, the social contribution of the institution forms the central character that has distinguished it since its foundation: “For 250 years, even before our birth as an independent country, the National Lottery already represented social and cultural wealth,” he said.

“They count on the Ministry of Public Function to work, to offer the most valuable thing we have, which is the human resource, and their expertise, and to transform the regulations and de-bureaucratize the institution.

I am sure that if they continue to work as they have been doing since the first day of the government, the Lottery will not only rebuild itself, but it will last another 250 years or many more,” Secretary Sandoval Ballesteros told Lottery managers National.

When taking the floor, Eduardo Villegas Megías, General Coordinator of Historical and Cultural Memory of Mexico recalled that the very life of the National Lottery testifies to national events and, with this, a long tradition has been formed among Mexicans.

Finally, Villegas Megías said: "For this reason, we celebrate today the birthday of the first draw, 250 years ago, of the National Lottery, which represents for Mexican women, for Mexicans, trust, certainty and transparency, but above all it represents equality," he concluded.

The Special Draw No. 243 had a total of 530 million pesos in prizes. The Grand Prize of 250 million pesos corresponded to banknote No. 42132, the first and second series were distributed for sale in Gómez Palacio, Durango, the third series was sent for sale to Chihuahua, Chihuahua, the fourth series was arranged for its sale through electronic means. WestLotto Receives Award for Exemplary Behaviour!

WestLotto awarded the seal of "Exemplary Company in Crisis"

MÜNSTER, Germany (May 14, 2021) -- In a study by the FAZ Institute, 70,000 companies in Germany were examined for their exemplary behavior. Westdeutsche Lotterie GmbH & Co. OHG (WestLotto) is one of the 300 companies that successfully passed all categories and were awarded the coveted seal.

The entire world has been fighting the corona virus for over a year. It is all the more important that companies outside of their core business do not forget their social responsibility and use their opportunities to make life a little easier in times of pandemics. The FAZ Institute has analyzed how strong this willingness is in companies in Germany and examined 70,000 companies more closely in a study. In the field of service providers, Germany's largest lottery organizer was able to shine as a role model and was awarded the seal of “exemplary company in crisis.”

"The past few months have shown us once again how important it is to take responsibility as a company - and that courage and trust pay off.", Says Andreas Kötter, management spokesman for Westlotto, who is also proud of the performance of the employees and employees in the crisis year.

In the pandemic year, WestLotto placed its commitment on three important pillars. The focus was first on the safety of the employees, who were given instructions for their work with extensive protection and hygiene regulations that went well beyond what is legally required. This was supported by a comprehensive digital expansion concept, which enables over 95% of the workforce to work fully from home. For the next few weeks, the company plans to send the workforce and their family members a vaccination offer in a separate vaccination line via the company doctor.

As a second pillar, the almost 3,200 lottery acceptance points in North Rhine-Westphalia (approx. 14,000 employees) could be helped with Corona emergency aid with hygiene and various measures to secure business livelihoods.

Social cohesion was and is in the foreground in the third pillar. Immediate aid in the form of face masks for sellers of homeless magazines, financial aid for the student corona emergency fund of the University of Münster or the large 500 × 500 program for NRW culture are actions that help others get through the pandemic. At 500 × 500, 750 NRW artists were given a digital platform for their submitted art videos, each of which was endowed with 500 euros by WestLotto.

"In the current corona crisis, the terms trust and responsibility have just got a whole new meaning," says Andreas Kötter about the background of the measures taken. The corona virus has changed public life and unsettled people. Therefore, at the beginning of the pandemic, WestLotto already supported the government and science in communicating about the corona warning app. Many employees publicly spoke out in favor of using the app in a Twitter campaign. “We wanted to make a contribution and be a role model in the crisis. Because doing nothing was and is the wrong way! The fact that we received an award today shows that we are on the right track,” comments Andreas Kötter on the company's award.

Having Lottoland supporting the Project is incredibly important as it means that we now have a Steering Group that is representative of absolutely every aspect of the industry, including lottery - not only the most popular and widely acceptable face of the gaming industry across the world but also a product which embodies diversity, equality and inclusion like no other. We are very proud to welcome them aboard,” says Christina Thakor-Rankin, Co-Founder of All-in Diversity Project.

The All-in Diversity Project is a non-profit dedicated to helping businesses and industry improve Diversity, Equality & Inclusion. All-in is a central resource for data and tools that help businesses make DEI a successful business strategy. Our Founding Members provide guidance and support sharing best practices and resources.
