Week Ending April 10 Sets Tennessee Lottery Instant Games Sales Record

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (April 13, 2021) – The week ending April 10, 2021 made Tennessee Lottery (TEL) history, setting the record of $47,104,415 for instant game sales in a week.

This record-breaking week included instant game sales of $10,151,891 on Tuesday, April 6, the second highest single day total after the TEL’s opening day on January 20, 2004.

FDJ and the FDJ Corporate Foundation Extend Their Patronage in Favour of The Heritage Foundation

BOULOGNE, France (April 8, 2021) - FDJ and its Corporate Foundation renew and intensify their support for the Heritage Foundation by signing two new sponsorship agreements.

The FDJ group is extending its commitment as a sponsor until 2024, to the tune of 2 million euros, and will support each year a specific project proposed by the Heritage Foundation. For its part, the FDJ Corporate Foundation will provide an endowment of 400,000 euros for the period 2021-2022, in favor of social and professional integration measures deployed on the restoration projects of the selected sites.

Charles Lantieri, Deputy CEO of the FDJ group and Chairman of the FDJ Corporate Foundation, declared: “We are proud to participate in the restoration of national heritage thanks to our Mission Patrimoine games, but also thanks to the Group's sponsorship actions. and its Foundation. Sponsorship reinforces the Group's involvement in this cause shared throughout the territory."

Since the creation of the Heritage Mission, led by Stéphane Bern and supported by the Heritage Foundation, FDJ's Mission Patrimoine games have raised nearly 70 million euros for the renovation of endangered French heritage. A fourth edition of this dedicated games offering will begin in September 2021.

The FDJ group and its Corporate Foundation have also been patrons of the Heritage Foundation since 2018. Their mobilization has supported the Heritage Foundation to the tune of 1.5 million euros.

The sponsorship of the FDJ Corporate Foundation, devoted to the financing of integration projects, has made it possible to support three hundred and fifty people in three years on nine restoration projects of sites in danger. The objective is to allow people far from employment to participate in these projects and, for the majority of them, to leave with qualifications or a job. Faced with unemployment and social exclusion, heritage restoration is a source of professional opportunities, both to preserve the restoration crafts and to promote the professional integration of people in difficulty.

In 2018, for example, two hundred and eighty-nine back-to-work employees benefited from socio-professional support on the Fort Saint-Nicolas construction site in Marseille. A professional qualification certificate (old building mason, zinc roofer, etc.) was given to forty-one of them, with an exit rate from employment and training of 58%.

In 2020, three restoration sites were selected to benefit from the support of the FDJ Corporate Foundation: the Jumenterie du Lude (Sarthe), the Murs à Pêches de Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis) and the Château de Rochefort in Asnières. -in-Mountain (Côte d'Or).

The Gambling Mediator Publishes Its First Activity Report

FRANCE (April 2021) --The mediator of games, which started its activity in September 2019, received 1,420 requests sent to the site mediateurs de jeux.fr. They mainly relate to difficulties encountered by sports betting players concerning results or cancellations of bets, welcome offers or limitation of stakes.

 The purpose of games mediation is to promote the amicable settlement of disputes that may arise between players and operators of games or bets approved by the ANJ or holder of exclusive rights (Française des jeux and PMU).

Independent and impartial, the games mediator, Denys Millet, honorary magistrate, listens to consumers and is responsible for bringing together points of view to pave the way for an amicable solution. Mediation makes it possible to avoid having recourse to a court, the referral of which remains possible.

Before approaching the mediator, people must first contact the operator in writing . Depending on the response obtained or if there is no response from the operator within 20 days, they can then refer the matter to the mediator.

At any time, the parties can withdraw from the mediation process.

The mediator's proposal has no binding effect, each party being free to accept or reject the solution adopted by the mediator.

Participation in mediation does not exclude the possibility of recourse to a court.

The stages of mediation

1st step: examination of the request (659 admissible requests)

Upon receipt of the request, the mediation service:

  • sends a notification of the admissibility of his request to the player. If the file requires it, additional information or details on the exact subject of his request are requested from the player;
  • informs the operator concerned, explains the player's request to him and requests his observations on the handling of this request and the reason for his decision. The operator is invited to respond to the mediation request within 20 days

 

2nd step: the closing of the mediation (530 closed requests) within an average of 62 days

The mediator makes a proposal in a closing letter which he sends to the player and the operator.

This proposition is justified in law and in equity. The mediator asks each of the parties to let him know within 20 days whether or not they accept the proposal made.

The main figures

  • The mediation service received 1,420 requests between September 2019 and the end of 2020.
  • Sports betting represents the vast majority of mediation requests (82%).
  • The number of applications declared inadmissible amounts to a total of 761 and that of admissible applications to 659.
  • The absence of a prior written complaint to the operators is the main reason for inadmissibility (80%)
