LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (October 3, 2019) -- Camelot Lottery Solutions’ annual 5km walk at the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries 2019 conference in Little Rock, Arkansas, saw delegates flock to support local charity Easterseals Arkansas.

The annual 5km walk, that builds on the positive legacy of the lottery industry in supporting good causes in local communities, took place on the morning of 18 September and followed a winding path along the Arkansas River Trail.

Camelot Lottery Solutions pledged to donate $100 to Easterseals Arkansas for each conference attendee who joined the walk. The total funds raised of $10,000 will benefit the local Little Rock community through Easterseals’ vital work.

For more than 75 years, Easterseals Arkansas has been a resource for people with disabilities and their families. Its mission is to provide exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or special needs have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities.

Wayne Pickup, CEO of Camelot Lottery Solutions, said, “Lotteries exist to benefit local communities, so I’m delighted that so many NASPL delegates joined us in aid of Easterseals Arkansas.

Our 5km walk for charity was designed to give delegates at the annual North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries conference an opportunity to raise money for the local community of the host city, while catching up with colleagues.

Little Rock has been a fantastic host city for the lottery industry’s major annual conference and I’m proud that Camelot Lottery Solutions could support Easterseals Arkansas’ important work.

Stephanie Smith, CEO of Easterseals Arkansas said, “The mission of Easterseals Arkansas is to change the way the world views and defines disabilities by making profound, positive differences every day.

To achieve that mission and to ‘take on disability together’ requires the support of, and ultimately, funding from our local community.

We are incredibly thankful for the donation from funds raised through Camelot Lottery Solutions’s 5km walk around Little Rock.

Bishop Woosley, President of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries said, “As an Arkansan myself, I couldn’t have been prouder that Little Rock hosted the annual conference of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries this year.

Lotteries around the country raise funds for good causes and work closely with charitable organizations just like Easterseals, who are so important to their local communities.

Camelot’s 5k charity walk is fast becoming a fixture of our annual NASPL conference and I’m extremely thankful to the many folk from all over the US and Canada who got up early to benefit our local community here in Arkansas.

Pollard Banner

Preliminary figures from the recently completed 2018-2019 fiscal year show the Lottery earned $60.2 million in revenues last year, an increase of 6.7 percent over the previous year.  In addition, the more than 1,000 Montana businesses who sell Lottery products also earned a record-breaking $3.6 million in commissions during that time, an increase of 12.5 percent over the previous year.

The Montana Lottery is a Montana-only business. Everything we do – from the design of our Scratch tickets to the commissions we pay – begins and ends in the state we love,” said Montana Lottery Director Angela Wong.

Pollard Banknote Receives Print Industry Award for First-Ever Transparent Instant Ticket

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Canada (October 7, 2019) -- Pollard Banknote Limited (TSX: PBL) (“Pollard Banknote”) is proud to announce that it is the recipient of an Award of Recognition from the Printing Industries of America (PIA) for its Clear Play™ instant ticket innovation. This award is a testament to Pollard Banknote’s long history of envisioning new products and bringing them to market to drive sales that support good causes for lotteries around the world. Other Pollard Banknote products such as Scratch Tab™, Scratch FX®, scented inks, and complex designs have been recognized with PIA awards in the past. Like these products, Clear Play™, the lottery industry’s first-ever transparent ticket, was the only lottery industry product selected from among thousands of submissions from around the world, demonstrating the quality of Pollard Banknote’s products in both the lottery industry and the wider print industry.

The PIA’s annual Premier Print Awards—the world’s most prominent international print competition—recognizes the leading print products in various categories. Among more than 22,000 submissions, Pollard Banknote’s Clear Play™ innovation was recognized as one of the highest quality products in the category of specialty printing (Miscellaneous Specialties—Other).

Pollard NCEL Ticket

Pollard Banknote developed Clear Play™ in response to the need for new physical features that enable instant tickets to stand out at retail. Cutting through the cluttered retail environment is an ongoing challenge that is particularly important for instant tickets, a product category in which sales depend on triggering impulse purchases.

Clear Play™ is printed on recyclable transparent plastic. This material gives the tickets a distinctive look and feel that allows light to shine through, bringing graphics and colors to life. The transparent backdrop of Clear Play™ can be used to create a wide range of stunning designs, while still providing the same print security as Pollard Banknote card stock tickets. This innovation enables creative designs and new instant game concepts not possible on conventional substrates, such as retro decoders, layering tickets over each other to complete or enhance an image, and combining graphics and data with a mobile app for extra chances to win.

The product concept for Clear Play™ was the result of a multi-functional team’s participation in an innovation project,” said Nancy Bettcher, Vice President, Product Innovation & Development, Pollard Banknote. “The market’s reaction has been extremely positive, with customers remarking that the substrate gives scratch tickets a new, modern look and feel. Clear Play™ instant games have already been launched in multiple jurisdictions with great success and more lotteries are preparing to offer this exciting new concept to their players.

About Pollard Banknote

Pollard Banknote is a leading lottery partner to more than 60 lotteries worldwide, providing high quality instant ticket products, licensed games, Schafer Systems and Fastrak retail merchandising solutions, and a full suite of digital offerings, ranging from game apps to comprehensive player engagement and iLottery solutions, including strategic marketing and management services. Innovative New Lottery Games Now on Sale in Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (October 7, 2019) -- The Kentucky Lottery has introduced a new type of lottery game never before seen in the Commonwealth.

Fast Play is a new series of games that are printed from a lottery terminal (like a Powerball or Pick 3 ticket), yet instead of waiting for a drawing to take place, players immediately know if they’ve won a prize.

With Fast Play, there is no playslip to fill out or numbers to pick – players just let a clerk at their local Lottery retailer know they’d like a Fast Play ticket, and it’s immediately printed at the terminal.

Fast Play games can also be purchased from select Kentucky Lottery vending machines.

The first series of Fast Play games available for purchase is the Times the Cash family, offered in a $1, $2, $5 and $10 price point.

Fast Play

To play, simply match your numbers to the winning numbers printed on the ticket and instantly win the prize below that match. Win the rolling jackpot by finding the word “Jackpot” under one of your matches.

The rolling jackpot starts at $10,000, grows with every Fast Play ticket sold, and has the current jackpot amount printed on each ticket.

Unlike draw games that can only be won at specific times when drawings take place, Fast Play jackpots can be won as soon as a ticket is purchased. The Fast Play jackpot is only winnable in Kentucky and unlike the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpot, is not shared with other states.

The amount of the jackpot to be won depends on the price point purchased by the player – the $1 ticket wins 10% of the jackpot, the $2 wins 20%, the $5 wins 50%, and the $10 wins 100% of the jackpot.

Fast Play games work like Scratch-offs, in that you immediately know if you’ve won a prize,” said Kentucky Lottery President and CEO.

This is an innovative new way to play that’s been very successful in other states, and we think players in Kentucky will really enjoy the new way to win.

LoveBrum, which was established in 2015, benefits from funding through the National Lottery Community Fund which helps the charity to support good causes, volunteer-led initiatives and help projects across the second city reach funding.
