California Lottery Updated App Lets You Check-A-Ticket Using
Your Cell Phone to See If Youve Won!
SACRAMENTO, California (June 11,
2018) -- California Lottery players have been asking for this feature and now
theyve got it! Get ready to use your mobile device to Check-A-Ticket to
see if youve won.
Thats right, no more waiting!
You can instantly see the results anytime and anywhere. All you have to do is
download the upgraded official California Lottery mobile app to get this new
feature, or if you already have the app, make sure its the latest
version. Once its loaded, hover your phones camera over the unique
barcode on the front of a California Lottery Scratchers® or newer draw game
ticket. The app will automatically show the results on your screen.
A couple of important things to
note. This uses your phones camera, so you must approve the camera access
prompt during setup and accept the legal notice. Be careful when scratching the
ticket barcode area on a Scratchers®. Dont get too excited and rip
it, because the device must be able to read the barcode.
 |
You can use the California
Lotterys mobile app to check the unique barcode on the front of a
California Lottery Scratchers® or newer draw ticket. (The newer draw
tickets have a unique barcode that looks a little different or
squiggly compared to a traditional barcode which has straight
vertical lines.) Of course, one question you may ask is, What if, for
whatever reason, the app wont work on my phone? Dont worry,
you can still take any ticket to a California Lottery retail location and have
it scanned. This is simply faster access to that service.
Our goal in providing the
Check-A-Ticket mobile app feature is to continue to capture the excitement of
playing our games. Remember, the ONLY way you can purchase our products is by
visiting one of the California Lotterys more than 23,000 retail
locations. That hasnt changed. If you have a winning ticket, you can
still claim by mail, or take that ticket to a participating Lottery retail
location or any one of our nine California Lottery District Offices.
This app is easy to use. But if
youd like to know more, we created two videos that walk you through the
process for your Android and iOS phones. Take a moment to view these short
informational videos at www.calottery.com/mobileapp.
This feature is the latest
significant upgrade to our mobile app since we included a feature that lets you
scan tickets into the California Lotterys 2nd Chance program.
So, what are you waiting for? Grab
your phone, download the app and Check-A-Ticket! Its winning knowledge in
the palm of your hands.

Camelot Succeeds in Returning the National Lottery to Growth
and Raising More Money for Good Causes
Camelot UK Lotteries
Limited: 2017/18 Financial Results
UNITED KINGDOM (June 8, 2018) --
Camelot UK Lotteries Limited (Camelot) today announced that
National Lottery ticket sales for the 2017/18 financial year (1 April 2017 to
31 March 2018) were £6,951.7 million an increase of £26.4
million on last year and an early indication that initiatives from the
companys recent strategic review are yielding results.
Welcoming the announcement, Camelot
CEO Nigel Railton said: Given that we had anticipated a further sales
decline this year, our achievement in getting The National Lottery back into
growth and delivering more money for Good Causes underlines the importance of
the work we have been carrying out following the strategic review. Its
fair to say that sales benefited from a nice run of luck particularly on
EuroMillions with some incredible jackpots but the strong foundations
and new initiatives that we are putting in place have also started to play a
part.
During 2017/18, Camelot generated
£1,655.3 million (excluding investment returns) for Good Causes,
£27.3 million more than in 2016/17. This equates to around £30
million every week and takes the total delivered to date to more than £38
billion. National Lottery funding has now been awarded to 535,000 individual
projects the equivalent of around 190 lottery grants in every UK
postcode district.
Over the course of the year, Camelot
awarded £3,928.4 million in prizes to players and created 343 new
millionaires. The National Lottery has now awarded over £67 billion in
prizes and created more than 5,000 millionaires or multi-millionaires since its
launch.
The sales increase over the period
was, in part, due to record digital sales of £1,652.2 million, which
included the best-ever performance by The National Lotterys range of
online Instant Win Games. Mobile sales grew to an all-time high of £700.6
million, with sales through smartphones and tablets now accounting for well
over 40% of all digital sales. Sales through the official National Lottery apps
for iPhone and Android also set new records, following the launch of a full
version of the Android app last year instantly making National Lottery
games available to millions more smartphone users.
In addition, EuroMillions had a
strong 12 months, with the game benefiting from an unexpectedly high number of
£100 million+ jackpots, as well as a number of special draws offering
multiple £1 million prizes both of which are proven drivers of
player excitement.
Initial activity that Camelot has
been carrying out following its strategic review also contributed to a strong
finish to the year. The review outcomes focused on four main areas: improving
the range of National Lottery games, investing in retail initiatives, upgrading
the companys digital capabilities, and reinvigorating the National
Lottery brand.
From a games perspective, Camelot
launched a new game EuroMillions HotPicks and added an extra draw day to its
£1 Thunderball game in January, both of which performed ahead of
expectations in the last two months of the financial year.
With sales of £5,299.5 million
over the period, retail remains the largest National Lottery sales channel
with over 75% of total sales coming through in-store terminals. As a
result of the strategic review, Camelot recently doubled the size of its sales
force to better serve its 45,000 retail partners resulting in around
5,000 retail visits per week (compared with around 2,000 at the same time last
year). In total, the company is investing £20 million in initiatives to
boost engagement and improve in-store display, merchandising and game
availability and so support its retailers.
Looking to the future, Nigel
commented: As we look to build on the progress weve made,
well continue to take action in those areas that we identified in the
strategic review. For example, we know that we need to make The National
Lottery brand and its purpose more relevant and visible, so one of the first
things weve done is to bring The National Lottery and the Good
Causes it supports back onto primetime Saturday night TV with a slot
during some of ITVs most popular shows.
Were also looking to
adapt our market presence to better reflect the constantly-changing
retail landscape. Key priorities include making National Lottery games
available at self-checkout, as well as in discounters whose market share has
grown considerably in recent years and we'll be looking to start this
process with a trial over the summer with a leading retailer.
All of this activity will
reflect our longstanding commitment to player protection. While we have already
carried out a great deal of work aimed at reducing excessive play, preventing
underage play and promoting safe play, we are in the process of more closely
examining how we can further strengthen our work in this area to ensure that
our approach is industry-leading and goes far beyond our licence requirements
in fulfilling our responsibility to consumers.
While there is much work still
to do and well continue to face challenges beyond our control,
such as continuing doubts over the economy and ever-increasing competition from
the gambling sector were confident that we have some really strong
plans lined up. These include improvements to Lotto coming later this year to
give our players a better winning experience. The National Lottery is a truly
national institution that makes a massive difference to the lives of people and
communities across the UK and everyone at Camelot is fully committed to
ensuring that this success story continues.
Total ticket sales and all related
financial results figures for 2017/18 are subject to final audit.

million since 2008

from four out of 11 the 2018 grant recipients. |
CHICAGO, IL (June 8, 2018) -- The
Illinois Lottery and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) helped
kick off Pride Month today by revealing the 11 agencies that are receiving 2018
grants to fund HIV/AIDS research, treatment and prevention programs across the
state of Illinois. The grants, ranging from $50,000 to $75,000, are made
possible through the sale of the Illinois Lotterys Red Ribbon Cash
instant ticket. This years ticket launched this week.
Since 2008, Red Ribbon Cash has
raised more than $7.6 million to help fight HIV/AIDS in Illinois. One hundred
percent of proceeds are dedicated to HIV/AIDS research, education and
prevention through grants administered by IDPH and the Quality of Life
Board.
"The Illinois Lottery is proud to
be partnering again with the Illinois Department of Public Health to support
the fight against HIV/AIDS, Illinois Lottery Acting Director Greg
Smith said. The Red Ribbon Cash instant game allows players to know
they are directly supporting HIV/AIDS research and services throughout
Illinois. The grants being awarded today make a difference in Illinois
fight against HIV/AIDS."
The Red Ribbon Cash instant ticket
is available at more than 7,000 Illinois Lottery retailers across the state.
Each Red Ribbon Cash ticket costs $3. Available prizes range from $5 to three
top prizes of $50,000.
We are fortunate that our
partners at the Illinois Lottery, the Governors office, and the
legislature who developed this ticket continue to prioritize HIV/AIDS
research, said IDPH Director Nirav D. Shah, M.D., J.D. We
depend on the funds raised to support innovative projects in diverse
communities of need that will improve screening, testing and prevention
efforts.
According to IDPH, Illinois ranks
sixth nationwide in the diagnosis of HIV infections and ninth in the estimated
number of AIDS cases. In 2016, the last year for which complete data are
available, there were 1,476 cases of HIV/AIDS diagnosed in Illinois. In Chicago
alone, there are more than 23,500 people living with HIV/AIDS nearly
three times the national prevalence rate.
The 2018 Red Ribbon Cash/Quality of
Life grant awardees are:
Asian Human Services, Chicago, $50,000
Bethany Place, Belleville, $50,000
Brothers Health Collective, Chicago,
$75,000
Center on Halsted, Chicago, $50,000
Lake County Health Department, Waukegan,
$50,000
McLean County Health Department,
Bloomington, $50,000
Men and Women in Prison Ministries,
Chicago, $75,000
Phoenix Center, Springfield, $75,000
Puerto Rican Cultural Center, Chicago,
$50,000
Sisters Helping Each Other, Gardner,
$75,000
Writers, Planners, Trainers Inc., East St.
Louis, $75,000
Without the support of
grants like these from the state of Illinois, the Center on Halsted would be
unable to provide essential services to the more than 1,000 community members
that visit our Center every day, said Modesto Valle, CEO of Center on
Halsted, which hosted todays event. I urge everyone in our
community to go out and buy the Red Ribbon Cash Lottery ticket, because 100
percent of profits are dedicated to an HIV/AIDS-free Illinois.

CRAWFORDSVILLE, IN. (June 14, 2018)
- IGT Indiana, the integrated services provider to the Hoosier Lottery,
announced today that the company has donated approximately $30,000 worth of
technology equipment and opened a new computer lab at the Montgomery County
Boys & Girls Club of Crawfordsville. The lab will allow the Boys &
Girls Club to serve more than 7,000 children during the school year and
summer.
Executives from IGT Indiana joined
Mayor Todd Barton, Representative Tim Brown, Senator Phil Boots and Montgomery
County Boys & Girls Club Executive Director, Craig Reeves and other staff
for the labs official opening.
The Boys & Girls Club computer
lab is the fifth such donation under IGT Indianas Technology Giving
Program, which provides state-of-the-art computers, printers, software,
furniture and volunteer hours to non-profit organizations that sponsor
educational programs in Indiana. The first two computer labs benefited Hoosier
veterans through the Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation and the Donald W.
Moreau, Sr. Veterans House. The third benefited youth through the Fort Wayne
Urban League, and the fourth benefited the Evansville Boys & Girls
Club.
IGT Indiana is honored to
provide computers and technology as part of our continued commitment to
charitable giving within the communities we serve. The Montgomery Boys &
Girls Club does a tremendous job serving our youth, said Melissa
Pursley, IGT Indianas vice president of marketing and product.

mission by serving more than 7,000 children throughout the Montgomery County
area.
The Boys & Girls Club received
15 Dell desktop computers, professional software, two Dell notebook computers,
15 Samsung Galaxy tablets, 15 drawing tablets with a stylus, a Dell server,
wireless routers and a variety of technology equipment to supplement the
computer lab. Additionally, IGT Indiana donated two flat panel

year by providing them with access to the latest in advanced computer
technology, said Chase Cummings, club board president Your
act of kindness demonstrates how much the community cares about the future of
our youth, and it will inspire them to study more, set goals and follow their
dreams.

Girls Club began operations in 1955, and today the Club provides programming
and services for the most at-risk boys and girls of our community. Through the
combination of their after-school sports and community programs, the Club
continues to serve an average of 7,000 Montgomery County youth per year and
rely on continued support from the community in the form of volunteerism, local
partnerships, & agency support from MUFFY and the Montgomery County
Community Foundation (MCCF).
Words cannot describe the
excitement of our board, staff, and kids of our Club. Education with STEM
programming is vital today in preparing our children for the future. This
lab allows us to show our commitment to our kids, families, and community that
preparing our children for the future is our Clubs priority. The lab will
be cutting edge allowing us to offer programs that will be fun and

About IGT Indianas
Technology Giving Program
IGT Indianas Technology Giving
Program donates on average to each computer lab $15,000 worth of
state-of-the-art technology, furniture and volunteer hours to non-profit
organizations that sponsors educational programs in Indiana. IGT Indianas
Technology Giving Program is modeled after IGTs global After School
Advantage program that began in 1999. The ASA programs goal is to
address the needs of children during the critical after-school hours. The
program strives to close the Digital Divide for disadvantaged
children who get left behind because they do not have the means to access
computers in todays increasingly digital society. The ASA program has
been implemented throughout the U.S., as well as the District of Columbia,
Barbados, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Kitts,
Antigua, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Since the launch of the ASA program IGT
has installed more than 295 computer labs. IGT employees volunteer their time
and technology skills to restore, establish and maintain each computer lab. For

Pennsylvania Lottery Launches Affiliate Marketing Program to
Promote PA iLottery Enrollment
MIDDLETOWN, PA. (June 7, 2018
Lottery retailers and other businesses that drive enrolment in the Pennsylvania
Lotterys iLottery online play platform can earn a share of the profits
through an affiliate program with Income Access, Paysafe Groups marketing
technology and services provider. The Income Access affiliate platform will
power the new program, which will also be managed by the companys
affiliate team.
PA iLottery features online games
played on a computer, tablet or mobile device that offer chances to win up to

This affiliate program
provides an excellent incentive to promote PA iLottery, said Lottery
Executive Director Drew Svitko. For 24 months, qualified partners can
earn a profit share of up to 20 percent for each iLottery player they
refer.
Qualified partners will earn a 10
percent profit share for players who sign up for iLottery through in-store
marketing efforts, or a 20 percent profit share for players who sign up through
digital marketing efforts.
Although applicants do not need to
be a Pennsylvania Lottery retailer to join the affiliate program, existing
Lottery retailers are urged to participate.
We want existing retailers to
understand that building awareness of iLottery can be good for their bottom
line, Svitko added. In other states that offer online games,
there has been growth in lottery game sales at retail.
The Pennsylvania Lottery affiliate
program will be managed using Income Access affiliate platform, which has
won eGaming Reviews Affiliate Software B2B Award four times
since 2013.
Income Access team of lottery
affiliate managers, which managed the Michigan Lottery affiliate program from
its launch in January 2018, will also manage the Pennsylvania Lottery program
directly.

partners will receive printed leaflets with their unique ID and a leaflet
holder to display in-store.
Electronic assets and a unique
referral tracking ID will be provided to those partners planning digital
marketing and promotion efforts. Partners will be able to promote that new
iLottery enrollees will receive $5 in free play.
Partners can manage their affiliate
account through a web portal featuring reporting tools and will receive
dedicated customer support.
New iLottery players can
only register once, so do not miss the opportunity to receive credit for
referring players, Svitko said. Remember: the more iLottery
players you refer, the greater the potential profit-sharing
earnings.

World
Cup: Dutch Gaming Authority to Come Down Hard on Gambling Providers that Allow
Participation by Minors
THE HAGUE, Netherlands (June 11,
2018) De Kansspelautoriteit (Dutch Gaming Authority) will pay special
attention before and during the World Cup to the online offering of sports
betting, and especially to participation by minors. The regulator on the gaming
market calls for participation by minors in sports betting to be reported via a
special notification form on its website.
 |
Participation in games of chance,
such as taking bets on sports competitions, is permitted from the age of 18.
Providers of games of chance are obliged to keep minors from participating. In
the Netherlands, only the Toto, part of the Dutch Lottery, can offer bets on
the results of sports competitions.
The Law on games of chance states
that one license is issued for this. All other providers of (online) sports
betting may not offer games of chance to Dutch consumers. They are obliged to
ensure that the Netherlands cannot participate.
They can do this, for example, by
applying geo-blocking: it is not possible to participate with Dutch IP
addresses.
No control possible
The Gaming Authority acts against
illegal gambling providers because there is no control on the fairness of the
game, the detection of gambling addiction and the participation of vulnerable
groups, such as minors. Additional reasons to act against illegal gambling
providers are specific focus on Dutch consumers (for example by using the Dutch
language) and having young people participate.

Betting on the results of sports
competitions is popular and is growing fast. The Market Game 2016 of the Gaming
Authority shows that the market for legal sports betting in the Netherlands
grew by 34 percent in 2016 compared to 2015. It is generally known that extra
bets are made during major sports tournaments, such as the upcoming Football
World Cup. Even if the Dutch national team does not participate, that is the
case. In the sports betting sector, football is by far the most popular sport
to bet on.
Notifications
The Gaming Authority announced
earlier this year in its Monitoring Agenda that preventing minors from
participating in games of chance is an important priority. Young people form a
vulnerable group; gambling providers must make every effort to prevent minors
from participating. The Gaming Authority would like to hear from parents,
teachers, friends or other people involved whether they take part in sports
betting by minors. Minors can also make a report themselves. Notifications can
be made via the Minors Reporting Form . The information is not used to
fine minors for their participation. The information is only used for dealing
with illegal providers.
