| Tipp24: Consolidated Net Profit 2007 Exceeds Own
Forecasts Preliminary
Figures For FY2007 - EBIT
Contribution From Germany Rises to EUR 10.1 (prior year: 7.3)
Million - Number of Registered
Customers up 574 Thousand Far More Than Planned
- Proposed First-Ever Dividend of 50 Cents Per
Share HAMBURG, Germany (February 22, 2008) --
Despite the difficult political situation at present,
Tipp24 achieved further growth in its
fiscal year 2007. The Hamburg-based company raised the number of registered
Group customers by 574 thousand (prior year: 448 thousand) to 2,344 thousand in
2007. Billings consisting mainly of brokered lottery tickets rose
to EUR 346.8 (264.2) million, representing growth of 31.2 percent. The 30.1
percent increase in revenue to EUR 45.0 (34.6) million was well above the
adjusted forecast of the first half-year 2007.
Earnings before interest
and taxes (EBIT) improved by 23.5 percent to EUR 8.9 (7.2) million, despite
one-off charges of around EUR 1.8 million. Adjusted for these special items,
EBIT climbed by 48.0 percent. The EBIT contribution of German operations was up
37.5 percent on the previous year to stand at EUR 10.1 (7.3) million. Adjusted
for the above mentioned special items, EBIT in Germany amounted to EUR 11.8
million. Consolidated net profit fell by 15.8 percent to EUR 6.3 (7.4) million.
The decline resulted from a positive one-off tax effect in fiscal year 2006.
Start of dividend payments to be proposed at Annual
Shareholders' Meeting in May Dr. Hans Cornehl, CFO of
Tipp24, states: This very positive development clearly illustrates the
scalability and sustainability of our business model. As a consequence of our
encouraging performance over the past few years, we are planning to propose our
first-ever dividend payment of 50 cents per share for fiscal year 2007 at the
Annual Shareholders' Meeting. As we believe our share of the dynamic online
lottery market can be further stabilized and expanded, this will mark the start
of regular dividend payments. Dynamic growth
continues despite ongoing discussions on German gaming market
The fiscal year 2007 was dominated by the ongoing
political and legal discussions surrounding the German gaming market and ended
with the ratification of a new and we believe illegal State
Treaty on Gaming. Jens Schumann, founder and
Executive Board member of Tipp24 AG, states: Nobody benefits from the
State Treaty on Gaming. Of the EUR 325.5 million in stakes which we received in
Germany on behalf of the state lottery companies in 2007, some 40 percent is
used to promote sports, the arts and welfare institutions. This money would be
lost if online brokerage were forbidden. However, certain politicians are
trying to force us out of the market in an alleged attempt to prevent gambling
addiction. Particularly with regard to these difficult conditions, we regard
the continued dynamic growth of Tipp24 as a complete success.
In January this year, the EU Commission in Brussels
took further action against the current State Treaty by instituting formal
infringement proceedings. At the same time, various administrative courts in
Germany have expressed considerable doubt as to the legality of the new State
Treaty on Gaming with regard to constitutional and EU law. The company believes
that these developments confirm its view that the State Treaty on Gaming will
not survive in the medium term. Key figures for the

Atlantic Lottery Corporation Increasing Its Focus
On Age Of Majority Compliance MONCTON, New Brunswick, Canada (February 21, 2008) The
Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC) is
conducting an ongoing mystery shopping program at retail locations across
Atlantic Canada to ensure that retailers are complying with ALCs policy
not to sell to minors. To date, our
compliance team has tested some 102 locations in the Maritimes, with testing in
Newfoundland and Labrador to follow shortly, said Thomas Bierbach,
Director of Security and Compliance. As a result we are in the process
of issuing letters of warning to 67 retailers in the Maritimes.
Under the guidance of
ALCs compliance officers, a minor would enter a retail location and
attempt to purchase a ticket. Retailers who were compliant with the policy are
supposed to ask for identification and refuse to sell the products to minors.
It is important that retailers, who have an
incredibly high rate of employee turnover, are given ample education and
training so that they clearly understand their obligation to follow the
policy, noted Bierbach. Our immediate focus will be to
follow-up with those retailers and then re-testing. A second incident of
non-compliance will mean a five day suspension, and an additional offense could
ultimately mean longer suspension and/or termination of the retail agreement.
This is consistent with ALCs progressive discipline
process. ALC currently has a number of
prevention and education initiatives in place, including signage and age of
majority stickers prominently displayed at retail locations, permanent
messaging on products, and an annual age of majority Christmas campaign.
In addition, ALC is reinforcing the importance of
compliance with this policy through a number of new measures including a letter
to all retailers, providing a retailer cue card for easy reference, and through
the delivery of a comprehensive education and training program that will focus
solely on this important responsible gambling policy. Breakdown by Province:

number of authorized Class III games that they may operate in the state.
Accordingly, the Company expects the tribes to remove a majority of its
remaining Reel Time Bingo units in California in the quarter ending March 31,

In Washington State, as previously disclosed, in November
2007 Multimedia Games entered into two contracts for the sale of 520 player
terminals and ancillary products, and for 50 player terminals, all of which
have now been installed. The Company expects that opportunities to provide new

continue going forward and that the potential exists for near-term sales and
placements. Oklahoma Market:

Multimedia continues the strategic transition of its Oklahoma linked, standard

passed legislation whereby the New York Racing Association was granted a
25-year franchise to continue to operate the Aqueduct, Belmont Park and
Saratoga facilities. Provisions in the bill include bond financing for the
addition of 4,500 VLTs to be installed at Aqueduct and allowing the operation

Danske Spil: DKK 1.6 Billion in Pools Funds in
2007 COPENHAGEN, Denmark (February
26, 2008) -- Sports, culture, the environment, research, disease prevention and
charitable causes will receive a total of DKK 1.6 Billion in support from the
pools funds based on Danske Spil's net
profit for 2007. The amount is on a level with the amount distributed in
2006.
The Danske Spil Group
generated a turnover of DKK 11,179 million in the 2007 financial year, and the
Annual Report, which was discussed by Danske Spil's Board of Directors today,
shows that this was a record turnover for the Group. In comparison, sales of games of chance amounted to DKK
10,591 million in 2006. This means that the turnover has Increased by 5.6 %
from 2006 to 2007. The benefit to Danish society from
Danske Spil's activities - expressed as the sum total of the distributable
profit of 'DKK 1,648 million and State tax of DKK 1,283 million amounts to a
total of DKK 2,931 million against DKK 2,894 million in 2006.
"2007 was very much the punters' year, as, in total,
they received prizes that exceeded the prizes paid in 2006 by DKK 500 million.
The total prize amount paid in 2007 was DKK 6,811 million, corresponding to an
average repayment rate of 60.9. In 2006, prizes amounting to a total of DKK
6,294 million were distributed, and the repayment rate was 59.4," says
Danske Spil's Chief Executive Officer, H.C. Madsen. "An ever-increasing share of the turnover is generated by
the online sales channel danskespil.dk and Lotto Service, which amounted to DKK
1,417 million in 2007, corresponding to 16.2 % of the parent company's turnover
of DKK 8,836 million. In 2006, danskespil.dk generated sales of DKK 1,118
million, or 13.3 % of the turnover. This consequently constitutes an increase
in turnover of 26.7 % for danskespil.dk," adds H.C. Madsen, Chief Executive

Research CHICAGO, Illinois
(February 29, 2008) -- Independent Lottery Research (ILR), one of the leading
gaming research companies in the world, announced today that a second lottery
has taken advantage of their proprietary Game PlanSM research tool. Game
PlanSM, a max-diff discrete analysis technique allows lotteries and lottery
vendors significant flexibility in measuring consumer reactions to game
attributes. Game PlanSM, is an invaluable
tool to determine game selection, consumer preference, game design, estimates
of potential ticket sales, and game creation, said Margaret Mueller,
one of ILRs Directors and author of ILRs columns in
NASPL
Insights Magazine. Our first customer measured 35 instant game
attributes against core players, infrequent players, lapsed players, and non
players of all demographics and genders in an efficient manner that produced
actionable results.
 |
The Scratch Ticket Manager,
Marketing Director, and Lottery Director were delighted with the result.
This technique gave us so much more information
than we have received from focus groups or vendor anecdotes of sales in
other jurisdictions, said one lottery executive, Before we
used Game PlanSM we had no idea of the commonalities of attributes that were
available in game planning to reach our core audience and younger
adults. The Game PlanSM research has already
been through two phases refining attributes into thirty nine proposed games and
scoring those games into preferences by market segment.
ILR will use Game PlanSM for both the instant and online
product with its new client lottery. The
mixed successes of new online game introductions in the three years ILR has
been around made us refine Game PlanSM to incorporate online features and
potential audiences. Game PlanSM will allow states and vendors to introduce new
online games with more confidence in their potential sales and know what
attributes articulated in marketing efforts will attract Joe and
Jack, said Matthew Smith, President of Leo J. Shapiro &
Associates and a Director of ILR. This will save lotteries time and
money and open up new markets for their online products and
technologies. Gary Kubo, a ILR Director and
twenty year lottery marketing veteran, feels Game PlanSM, is going to be
a valuable tool as the game database expands over time. A lottery will be able
to optimize their game mix to create opportunities across various player
segments. From a media and planning perspective, this research tool is the
first one that allows measuring game elements and play appeal across multiple
groups, to refine messaging and media plans. For

county coworkers, a 42-year-old Elkton, Md., man, a Newark woman who only plays
the RAFFLE, and one anonymous winner. The Delaware
Lottery also introduced HOT LOTTO® in January. A Lotto-style game with
guaranteed estimated annuity jackpots of at least $1 million, ticket sales for
the $1 game began Jan. 28 around the First State, and the first drawing was
held Jan. 30. Weve heard the call for a
game with larger top-prizes than MULTI-WIN LOTTO and better odds than
POWERBALL®, said Lemons. HOT LOTTO® fills this niche
and offers players a better shot to take home estimated annuity prizes in the
$1 million to $20 million range. The
Delaware Lottery reminds players that prizes must be claimed within one year
from the date of the drawing. Since the start of
operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery has contributed more than $2.6 billion
to the states General Fund to help finance needed state services that
benefit everyone in Delaware. The Lottery offers a variety of games:
POWERBALL®, HOT LOTTO®, MULTI-WIN LOTTO, PLAY 3, PLAY 4, and assorted
Instant Games. Winner Privacy is our Policy.
