GTECHs Subsidiary Spielo to Provide Combination Slot/Bingo
Gaming Terminals to Manitoba Lotteries Corporation
PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island (October
29, 2007) -- GTECH Corporation, a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Lottomatica
S.p.A. (Pink Sheets: LTTOY), announced that it will provide 650 new
combination video slot/electronic bingo gaming terminals to
Manitoba Lotteries Corporation (MLC).
GTECHs video lottery
subsidiary, Spielo Manufacturing ULC
(Spielo), will design and deliver the terminals and the associated bingo
systems to MLC for installation at MLCs two casinos - McPhillips Street
Station Casino and Club Regent Casino. Spielo will also provide MLC with
refreshment of games over a five-year period, commencing in 2009. This
announcement follows a competitive procurement process.
Spielos terminal solution is a
lottery industry first, offering an unprecedented level of integration between
video slot and electronic bingo functionality in a live bingo environment. The
terminals integrated electronic gaming machine application will enable
the play of video slot games, electronic bingo games linked to live bingo
draws, or both types of games at the same time on a split screen.
Spielo put forth the most
comprehensive bid, encompassing all of the functionality that MLC
required, said W. Bruce
Turner, GTECH and Lottomatica S.p.A. CEO. The new Spielo terminals
will replace electronic bingo-only terminals currently in use, and will change
the way video slot and electronically-assisted live bingo games have
traditionally been delivered to the player base in the past. The floor space at
MLCs casinos can now be utilized as a video slot floor, an
electronically-assisted live bingo floor, or a floor that allows patrons to
play video slot games and electronic bingo games at the same time. This
versatility allows MLC to maximize the utilization of the floor
space.
The McPhillips Street Station Casino
installation is scheduled for the spring of 2008 and the Club Regent Casino
installation is scheduled for the fall of 2008. With respect to the product
sale to MLC and fees for new games, GTECH, through its subsidiary, Spielo,
expects to receive revenues of approximately US$19 million beginning in
2008.

Wincor Nixdorf Again Generates Significant Growth in Net Sales and
EBITA Forecasts Slightly Exceeded
Preliminary Results For
Fiscal 2006/2007 (Sept. 30)
KONSTANZ, Germany (October 29, 2007)
-- Wincor Nixdorf AG has ended fiscal
2006/2007 with a significant increase in EBITA, which grew by 16%, and a
year-on-year gain of 10% in net sales. As one of the world's leading suppliers
of IT solutions for retail banks and the retailing sector, the company extended
EBITA to EUR 186 million (previous year: EUR 161 million) and net sales to EUR
2,145 million (EUR 1,948 million). Adjusted for exchange rate movements between
the euro and US dollar, growth in net sales amounted to 12%. The latest results
published by Wincor Nixdorf slightly exceed the company's recent growth
forecasts. After the second quarter of fiscal 2006/2007 the latter had been
revised upwards to 15% in the case of EBITA and to 9% with regard to net sales.
"The fiscal year just ended underscores the overall solidity of our
company," emphasized President & CEO Eckard Heidloff. Growth was driven
principally by strong gains outside Germany as well as by solid business in the
retail banking segment.
Earnings before interest, taxes,
depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased by approx. 15% to EUR 233
million in fiscal 2006/2007 (EUR 203 million). Net income rose by around 33% to
EUR 109 million (EUR 82 million). Cash net income, i.e. net income adjusted for
the effects of amortization of product know-how, expanded by 26% to EUR 118
million (EUR 94 million). Wincor Nixdorf includes this figure in its financial
reports for the purpose of completeness and comparability. Product know-how was
created as part of the company's carve-out from the Siemens Group in 1999. Net
cash from operating activities rose to EUR 180 million (EUR 155 million).
Continuation of consistent
growth
For the current 2007/2008 fiscal
year Wincor Nixdorf has forecast growth in net sales of 8% and a 10% increase
in EBITA. As was the case in the fiscal year just ended, growth is expected to
emanate principally from markets outside Germany as well as from the company's
activities in the retail banking sector.
In formulating its growth forecast
for the current fiscal year, Wincor Nixdorf is again looking to exceed
prospective growth rates of 6% in net sales and 8% in EBITA originally set as
the company's target at its IPO in 2004. "We shall continue on a path of
consistent growth," said Heidloff.

Quest For Gold A Winner For Amateur Athletes And
Ontarians
SAULT STE. MARIE, Ontario, Canada
(October 25, 2007) - Sault Ste. Marie MPP David Orazietti, along with
Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation
(OLG) CEO Kelly McDougald, today launched the next edition of the QUEST FOR
GOLD lottery game, with more great prizes that benefit Ontario's amateur
athletes.
The QUEST FOR GOLD instant win
ticket offers a one in three chance to win cash prizes ranging from $20 up to
four individual prizes of $1 million. Proceeds from the sales of instant win
tickets not only support amateur athletics in Ontario, but promote ACTIVE 2010,
Ontario's sport and physical fitness strategy. The sale of QUEST FOR GOLD
tickets to date has generated $12.9 million towards amateur athletics through
the Ministry of Health Promotion.

"Amateur athletes across Ontario
and here in the Sault work countless hours to perfect their skills," said
Orazietti. "Their dedication and commitment inspires others to reach their
goals. This program allows our government to fund programs that not only help
athletes achieve success, but promote physical activity leading to a healthier
lifestyle."
"QUEST FOR GOLD is another
example of how OLG is making the dreams of young Ontarians become a
reality," said McDougald. "The first two editions of this popular game
have helped fund the training of many aspiring Olympians. Today's introduction
of a third edition will help more young athletes reach their
potential."
Among the athletes featured on the
new tickets is Sault Ste. Marie's own biathlete, Colin Edwards. "I was never
more proud than when I stood on the podium after placing first in my age
category," said Edwards. "The sale of QUEST FOR GOLD tickets helped me
receive quality training and equipment that was crucial in my development as an
amateur biathlete," added Edwards.
The QUEST FOR GOLD lottery has
already helped more than 1,400 of Ontario's high-performance amateur athletes
to train and prepare to compete against the rest of the world, all the way
through the 2010 winter games in British Columbia. The third edition of the
popular Ontario-only game features more great prizes and a winter sports theme
to generate proceeds for amateur athletics.
QUEST FOR GOLD tickets are on sale
for $20 beginning Monday, October 29, 2007 at more than 10,000 retail locations
across Ontario.

Camelot Further Reduces Carbon Emissions And Beats Targets For
Performance Standards
WATFORD, UK (October 30, 2007) --
Camelot today announced that it has
reduced its CO2 emissions in 2006/7 by 29% successfully beating its
target of 15%.
Camelot has reduced its CO2
emissions through a variety of approaches, including switching to green
electricity, converting almost all its transport fleet to diesel, and greater
energy efficiency in all offices.
All lottery tickets printed at
terminals are now on recycled paper including some sourced from used
paper in Camelots own offices. In addition, National Lottery Scratchcards
are also now being manufactured using paper from sustainable, managed sources.
As a result, 20% of paper used by Camelot is now recycled, and 60% is from
sustainable sources.
In a move which further reflects
Camelots ongoing mission to operate The
National Lottery in a responsible manner, the company has also become the
first major lottery operator in the world to go carbon neutral. Camelot is
offsetting its emissions by investing in the Te Apiti wind farm in New Zealand,
the world's first Gold Standard offset project.
Camelot Chief Executive
Dianne Thompson said: 2006/7
was the first year that we set a target for reducing our carbon emissions. We
thought 15% would be pretty tough so to achieve nearly double that is a
fantastic tribute to the commitment of everyone who works here.
Camelots work to prevent
underage play of The National Lottery has also produced its best-ever results.
Operation Child, Camelots ground-breaking scheme designed to keep
National Lottery retailers vigilant against selling to under-16s, saw its best
ever year of results in 2006 as first refusal rates to test purchasers rose to
94.5 per cent, from its earlier record of 92.7 per cent in 2005.
The results are detailed in
Camelots Corporate Responsibility Report and Annual Report, both
published today, and also include the companys success in meeting
challenging performance standards:
- Retail Systems: The availability of lottery
terminals for ticket sales hit 100% in 2006/7, with availability to validate
prizes at 99.95%, beating the targets of 99.50% and 99.00% respectively.
- Interactive Systems: On interactive channels
national-lottery.co.uk, Sky Active, and Play by Text on mobile phones
games availability was at 99.64%, and prize payment systems availability
was 100%, beating the stretching targets for both, which were set at 99.0%.
The reports also reveal that
Camelots success in operating The National Lottery continues to be based
on large numbers of people spending small amounts of money.
During 2006/7, Camelot moved from
fifth to fourth place in the global rankings of lotteries by sales, published
in the internationally-recognised La Fleurs World Lottery Almanac.
More than 70% of the UK adult population play The National Lottery on a regular
basis, but the average weekly spend is less than £3.
A year of lottery landmarks is
highlighted in the reports a year when Camelot created its 2,000th
millionaire and when the amount raised for Good Causes passed the £20
billion mark.
That money has so far been used to
fund more than 280,000 individual awards, an average of 93 grants for every
postcode area in the UK. That amounts to the largest programme of civic and
social regeneration since the 19th Century.
Camelots work to raise
Corporate Responsibility standards across the globe is also highlighted in the
reports. Chief Executive Dianne Thompson led the World Lottery
Associations drive to introduce a Responsible Gaming Framework,
committing lotteries around the world to high standards of player protection.
The framework was agreed by 140 lotteries and, thanks to further work
led by Camelot, a complementary set of standards was also adopted earlier in
2007 by the European Lottery Association.
Dianne Thompson said: These
reports further highlight Camelots commitment to social responsibility,
something we will continue to champion over the coming year. They also
demonstrate that Camelot is continuing to run every aspect of the lottery in a
cost-efficient and responsible manner, putting us in a great position to launch
the groundbreaking new plans we have for the start of the next lottery licence
in 2009.

Daily 4 Launch Successful; Pick 3 To Offer Sum It
Up Feature
AUSTIN, Texas, USA (October 26,
2007) -- On September 30, the Texas
Lottery® launched a brand new game, Daily 4 with Sum It Up.
According to un-audited numbers, the game and associated add-on feature brought
in more than $5.2 million during the first three weeks of sales. Of that
number, approximately $1.2 million came directly from sales of the Sum It Up
add-on feature, which Pick 3® will also offer soon.
We are pleased with the
sales numbers for Daily 4 with Sum It Up so far, said Texas Lottery
Commission Executive Director Anthony J.
Sadberry. Sum It Up will also enhance Pick 3, providing a fun new
way for players to win. By adding this feature to the Pick 3 game, we hope to
generate even more money for the Foundation School Fund. Beginning
November 11, players will have the option of wagering from 50 cents to $5 on
the sum of their Pick 3 numbers. The Sum It Up add-on feature allows players to
win if the sum of their three numbers matches the sum of the three numbers
drawn, even if the numbers themselves do not match. For example, a player
choosing the numbers 5 1 6 (Sum = 12) would win the Sum It Up
prize if the numbers 4 0 8 (Sum = 12) are drawn. The base Pick 3
game will remain the same, and players can select the add-on feature in
conjunction with any of the Pick 3 play types. Those who choose the Sum It Up
option may win additional prizes from $3 to $2,500, depending upon the wager
amount selected and the odds for the chosen sum.
Odds of winning a Sum It Up play
range from 1 in 13 to 1 in 1,000 and vary according to the numbers picked. For
more information, please visit the official Texas Lottery Web site at

Lottery Sales Top $2 Billion For Sixth Consecutive
Year
Strong Sales Mean Millions
For State Education And Institutions
TRENTON, New Jersey (October 29,
2007) -- New Jersey Lottery Acting
Executive Director William T. Jourdain and Lottery Chairman Robert D'Anton
today announced that the New Jersey Lottery has surpassed $2 billion in sales
for the sixth consecutive year. This past fiscal year was another strong one in
terms of sales, overall winners, retailer commissions and contributions back to
the Garden State. More than $1.3 billion in cash and prizes were awarded by the
Lottery last year.
With a diverse array of
instant tickets available each year, the Lottery now offers a unique gaming
experience for everyone, said Acting Executive Director William T.
Jourdain. Whether it is exciting new instant ticket games like Caribbean
Cruise Poker, sports like football and baseball or special times of the year
like Mothers' or Fathers' Days, the Lottery continues to grow and evolve its
instant ticket portfolio. And this year, we even added a new wrinkle to our
Green Machine' gamesthe Million Dollar New Year Raffle , a game
which was very well-received by our players.
Jourdain also noted that the Lottery
is the State's fourth largest individual revenue producer. In FY'07, the
Lottery contributed $828.3 million for State-sponsored programs, the
second-largest revenue contribution amount in Lottery history.
Since the Lottery was created in
1970, nearly $16.4 billion has been generated in support of programs such as:
county community college capital improvement initiatives; school nutrition
efforts; the Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf; the operation of centers for
the developmentally disabled, state psychiatric hospitals and homes for
disabled soldiers; higher education tuition and grants; higher education
opportunity fund programs, aid to independent colleges and universities and
funding for the Garden State Scholars Program.
The Lottery continues to
function as an integral component of the State's economy, touching programs and
services that transcend winning numbers and million dollar jackpots,
added Lottery Chairman Robert D'Anton. Many of these initiatives would
have an exceedingly difficult time if not for Lottery proceeds.
D'Anton also noted that the effects
of the Lottery's success are felt throughout the entire State, including within
the small business community, The Lottery's network of more than 6,100
retailers - chain stores, supermarkets, pharmacies and convenience stores -
earn five percent of their Lottery ticket sales in the form of commissions. In
FY '07, the Lottery returned commissions totaling over $131.2 million,
providing many of our State's small businesses with a valuable source of extra
revenue.
