Millionaire Raffle to Go on sale March 12!

LANSING, Michigan, USA (January 19, 2007) -- Tickets for the Michigan Lottery's second Millionaire Raffle game will go on sale March 12.  The drawing is scheduled for April 20.

The Lottery's first Millionaire Raffle game went on sale November 12 and sold out all 500,000 tickets in just 11 days.

Citing the overwhelming response to the first raffle, Lottery Commissioner Gary Peters said the March game will offer 600,000 tickets at $20 each.  The increased number of tickets for sale in the second Millionaire Raffle gives players a chance at more prizes.  This raffle will feature six $1 million prizes, 12, $100,000 prizes, and 900, prizes of $1,000 each.  Overall odds for winning a raffle prize are 1:654.

Players loved the first Millionaire Raffle and we expect the same response this time," Lottery Commissioner Gary Peters said.  “And like the first Raffle, this game offers the best odds ever, 1 in 100,000, of winning $1 million."

Millionaire Raffle tickets will be available at nearly all Michigan Lottery retailers.  Six digit tickets, beginning with 000001, will be issued in numerical order as sales occur across the state.  When ticket number 600,000 is reached, sales will close.  Players will not be able to choose their own numbers and must match the exact number as drawn by the Lottery.

The six, $1 million prize winning numbers will be announced during the Lottery's evening drawing broadcast on April 20.  Players will also be able to check winning numbers at the Lottery's Web site at www.michigan.gov/lottery, at Lottery retailers or at Lottery regional offices throughout the state.

All proceeds from the Millionaire Raffle, as well as from all other Lottery games, are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.

And now, MDI is turning up the heat on its Harley-Davidson instant game by offering lotteries all-new, Harley-Davidson® Fat Boy® motorcycles with the intense “Edge Flame” paint set in red and black.

Steve Saferin, MDI president, noted that to date, 39 lotteries have launched a combined total of 74 Harley-Davidson themed instant games which  included  Sportster®, Heritage Softail® Classic, V-Rod® and  Fat Boy® motorcycles and even the Ford Harley-Davidson™ F-150 Truck.

Dianne Thompson Pledges Future To Camelot

WATFORD, UK  (January 21, 2007) -- Camelot Group Chief Executive Dianne Thompson announced today that she intends to stay at the company until at least 2012, should it be successful in winning a third licence to operate the lottery later this year.

Dianne’s commitment forms part of Camelot’s bid for the third licence. Bids for the licence have to be submitted to the National Lottery Commission on February 9th 2007. The preferred bidder is due to be announced in June 2007, and the new licence will commence in February 2009.

Dianne Thompson said: “I am very pleased to pledge my future to Camelot and The National Lottery if we win a third licence and I’m determined to ensure that The National Lottery delivers on its commitment to raise £1.5billion for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games

Our bid team has thought very radically about the future of the lottery and we have written a bid designed not just to retain the licence – but to win it. Despite our achievements in returning the lottery to growth and delivering more to society than any other lottery in the world, we are taking absolutely nothing for granted.

Camelot began work on its third licence bid in January 2005, and created a dedicated team to work on the bid while the rest of the company continued with the vital work of raising money for UK Good Causes.

Dianne joined Camelot in 1997 as Commercial Operations Director and took over as Chief Executive in December 2000 when Camelot was awarded the second licence to operate the lottery. As Chief Executive Dianne has developed and driven Camelot’s strategy for growth, which has succeeded in delivering the longest period of growth in the history of The National Lottery, with year-on-year sales up in 2003/4, 2004/5 and 2005/6.

Last year Camelot delivered the largest single rise in sales for over eight years – and last week released figures showing that in the nine months to the end of quarter three, 2006/7 sales were £3,713.8 million, an increase of £105.4 million or 2.9% on the figure of £3,608.4 for the same period last year.

In a career spanning over 30 years, Dianne has worked in marketing and management roles for a variety of organisations. Dianne started her career at the Co-Op then moved to ICI Paints (1974-1979) before becoming a lecturer at Manchester Polytechnic (1979-1986) – during which time she founded and ran her own advertising agency.

Dianne moved to Sterling Roncraft (1986-1988) and then became Managing Director of Sandvik Saws and Tools (1988-1992). Between 1992 and 1994 Dianne was Director of Marketing at Woolworths before moving to Signet Group (1994-1997) as Marketing Director.

In the 2006 New Year’s Honours Dianne received a CBE for services to business. Dianne was named the “first lady of marketing" when she topped Marketing magazine's Power 100 list in June 2006 – and in September 2006 she was awarded the Chartered Management Institute’s Gold Medal for her strategic direction and leadership.

Wincor Nixdorf Lottery Solutions Presents New Products At Wincor World 2007
Wincor Nixdorf’s (Lottery) World

CONSTANCE, Germany (January 17, 2007) -- During Wincor World from January 30 to February 1, 2007, the German city of Paderborn will become an information platform for IT experts from around the world. Across 7,500 square meters of exhibition space, Wincor Nixdorf will be presenting its extensive portfolio of hardware, software, consulting, and services, all oriented toward optimizing business processes at banks and retail chain stores, reducing costs and complexity, and improving service for the customer. Sixty well-known partners, including Intel, Microsoft, and SAP, are among the exhibiting compa-nies. At Wincor World 2007, the business unit Lottery Solutions will present new tech-nological developments for the lottery sector.

Every year, Wincor World provides an impressive overview of the wide range of products and services offered by Wincor Nixdorf. This well-established company is one of the world’s lead-ing suppliers of IT solutions for retail banking and retail enterprises.

Eighteen of the 25 largest banks in the world and 17 of the 25 strongest retail companies are Wincor Nixdorf customers. The company employs over 7,800 people and achieved revenues of 1.95 billion euros in the last fiscal year. Wincor Nixdorf is present in over 90 countries and has subsidiaries in 34 of them.

Wincor Nixdorf maximizes its know-how from its core business with banks and retail compa-nies in developing solutions for other sectors as well. The business unit Lottery Solutions, for example, offers products and solutions that are tailored to the specific requirements of the lottery market. For example, at the Lottery Solutions stand Wincor World visitors can test the small but multitalented Xion /S, a next-generation lottery terminal. The machine is an archi-tectural wonder: it unifies all modules of a conventional lottery terminal in a compact housing, including a scanner for playslips and a thermal printer for printing tickets. Barcode and chip card readers can also be installed. Three variants are available; in addition to a keyboard model there are two touch-screen variants that make the system even easier to use. The processor unit is also integrated into this all-in-one solution. That means there’s enough space for the Xion /S at even the smallest POS!

The team from Lottery Solutions demonstrates lottery terminal expansion options using mul-timedia peripheral devices connected to a Xion /Mtop terminal. The Xion /Xpress kiosk  ter-minal, also on display, addresses the self-service trend in the lottery sector, combining intui-tive operator guidance with multimedia infotainment. The high-speed thermal printer Xiprint+ is the fastest printer on the market right now – and visitors to Wincor World have the opportu-nity to test its speed themselves!

Wincor World takes place from January 30 to February 1, 2007 at Welle Messezentrum, Wollmarktstr. 121, 33098 Paderborn, Germany. www.wincor-world.com.

EGET Takes Its Products to the Next Level, and Delivers More “Entergainment” Features

HELSINKI, Finland (January 19, 2007) -- With EnterGainment® Services, EGET puts emphasis on online entertainment with mass-market appeal and develops ‘soft’ games with small stakes that appeal  to a wide audience. As responsible gaming is an important part of EGET’s managed gaming services, the platform has also been updated with new features to strengthen this aspect.

Classified

Two of EGET’s latest games, Space Invasion and Money Drive, both 5-reel slot machines, include fun graphics and exciting skill-based bonus games. Space Invasion has a retro feeling of the popular computer game from a few decades ago and in the bonus game, players get to eliminate the invaders, just as in the original. In Money Drive, the bonus game offers players the chance to increase their win amount by playing a fun car game. EGET plans to continue with this approach in 2007, and will be releasing new, fun and entertaining games and concepts.

EGET’s development efforts do not end at game features but also extend to graphics and game visuals, allowing its customers to offer their players a more entertaining

user experience. For example, another fun feature EGET has brought to its slot machines is that the theme of the game changes with the stake amount.

EGET has also been developing its gaming platform and in particular the handling of gaming limits according to the principles of responsible gaming. For operators, EGET has enhanced back office functionalities to make it easier for them to set game limits. This is of course in addition to existing functions that enable players to easily set their own bet and gaming limits.

Classified Ad

EGET has increasingly put emphasis on developing its game products and services towards the idea of EnterGainment® – entertainment with the possibility of gain. As the market is moving towards game convergence - meaning games incorporating features that are more skill-based - and responsible gaming is at the forefront of our customer concerns,  we strive to provide products and services that not only respond to the needs of the market but also offer something more”, says Martin Prantner, CEO of EGET.

Lottery Celebrates Three Years, Offers Best Chance Yet To Win $1 Million
Sales During Third Year Top $1 Billion; Total Raised For Education More Than $763 Million!

NASHVILLE, Tennessee, USA (January 22, 2007) -- The Tennessee Education Lottery marked its third anniversary today with a financial transfer that brings the total raised for education to more than $763 million.

The Lottery also announced the launch of “Million $ Madness,” a game with the best chance yet to win $1 million.

To illustrate the game’s biggest draw—four prizes of $1 million each—Lottery officials unveiled details at downtown Nashville’s FirstBank … where stacks of cash served as a backdrop.

“As part of our third year celebration, we wanted to introduce a game that’s sure to continue the momentum that has helped generate more than $763 million for education,” said Rebecca Paul Hargrove, Tennessee Lottery President and CEO. “Innovative games that are fun to play are a hit with players, which means a win for education and Tennessee.

Hargrove presented a review of the Lottery’s past three years and disclosed details of Million $ Madness, a raffle-style game with a limited quantity of tickets available. Once all 800,000 tickets are sold, a drawing will be held to select four (4) $1 million-dollar prizes, two (2) $50,000 prizes, and one-hundred (100) $500 prizes. The odds to win $1 million are 1 in 200,000. All ticket numbers will be unique and no number will be duplicated. As an added bonus, each retailer who sells a $1 million ticket will receive $5,000.

We’ll continue to introduce exciting products in order to maximize the dollars we raise for education,” said Hargrove. Tennessee uses lottery monies to fund college scholarships, pre-kindergarten and after-school programs. During academic year 2006-07, an estimated 60,000 college students have received lottery-funded awards.

Details about the Lottery’s first three years (through close of business, Jan. 19, 2007) include:
