LONDON, United Kingdom (November 30, 2006)Lottery
operator pledges £30k from its cancelled Christmas party National Lottery
operator Camelot, today pledged to make a £30,000 donation to the Farepak
appeal, after cancelling its Christmas celebrations.
The Christmas party for Camelot's 900 staff was due to
take place in central London in December, but the lottery firm put a halt to it
because of the unusual demands placed on the business as it prepares the final
stages of its bid for the third lottery licence. Camelot Chief Executive,
Dianne Thompson, has instead pledged £30,000 that would have been spent
on the party to help those affected by the collapse last month of savings and
hamper company Farepak.
Dianne said: "I am really pleased to be able to make
this donation to help those who have been devastated by the demise of Farepak."
Camelot was considering how it could best help those who had lost savings
through Farepak with its Christmas party donation, when it heard about the
appeal.

Scientific Games - Proposed Games Media
Acquisition
NEW YORK, USA (November 27, 2007) --
Scientific Games (Nasdaq: SGMS) announced
today that it has signed a letter of intent to purchase Games Media Ltd. and
related companies.

principally to operators who lease them to the UK public house market. The
acquisition is expected to close prior to the end of 2006.
The UK public house market comprises
approximately 60,000 pubs which have an estimated total of 120,000 AWPs and
30,000 SWPs.
Games Media is the third largest

licensed betting offices.
Andrew Ludlow, Managing Director of
Games Media said "We are delighted to have Scientific Games and Global Draw
as our partners to take forward our plans for the expansion of our digital

lack to take forward our digital proposition as an integrated solutions
provider and the financial resources to allow us to actively pursue these
ambitions."
Steve Frater, Managing Director of
The Global Draw, said "Following on from our success in introducing digital
gaming products to the Licensed Betting Office sector we have been eyeing a
move into the UK AWP market for some time. This will enable us to get better
use of our UK wide service infrastructure and experience of precipitating
change in this market to networked digital platforms similar to what we offer.
Games Media are the perfect partner for us as they have significant experience
of and strong relationships within the pub retail sector."
Lorne Weil, Chairman and CEO of

Global Draw operations perfectly positions us to be the catalyst for change in
the UK AWP market as it switches over to a networked digital model. The
acquisition broadens both our access to content and expertise in incorporating
content from third parties onto other platforms. The access to the pub leisure
market in the UK also opens up a number of other opportunities for Scientific

How Much Do People Need To Feel Rich? In The UK, Its Over
£25 Million
LONDON, United Kingdom (November 3,
2006) -- The National Lottery reveals
European attitudes to wealth and status symbols Almost a quarter of people in
the UK (24%) claim they would need £25 million or more to feel
exceptionally wealthy, according to a brand new pan-European study undertaken
among over 4,500 people from eight countries to find out about current
attitudes towards wealth in Europe.
Portugal came top of the rich
rankings in this league of nations, with 70% of the population needing over
£25 million the UK came sixth overall. Amazingly and higher still,
over half of the Portuguese (56%) say it would take £100m to make them
feel very rich. With an estimated £88 million jackpot available to win in
Fridays EuroMillions draw (3 November), The National Lottery®
conducted the study among each of the countries participating in the game*,
revealing the wide-ranging European attitudes to wealth and the status symbols
that go with it.

Across Europe, everyone does agree
on one thing: the ultimate, number one status symbol is a private jet. However,
while people in the UK rate first class travel and a private pool among their
top five indicators of wealth, they do not feature in the lists for residents
of France, Spain, Austria and Portugal. Instead, these countries rate personal
shoppers and ownership of expensive jewellery much higher.
The
EuroMillions study shows surprising
expectations about the amount of money needed for people to feel rich.
Twenty-four per cent of the UK population would need over £25 million to
feel rich with 17% wanting £100 million or more. Expectations in
this country are high, but not as high as in Switzerland, where 25% of people
would want £100 million or more; Spain, at 29%; or Portugal, where the
figure is a whopping 56%.

Displays of Wealth:
In the UK, two thirds of the
population think owning a holiday home doesnt display wealth; 70% think
an Armani suit is definitely not a symbol of wealth; four out of five
people do not automatically think that homeowners without a mortgage are rich;
and only 9% now believe you need to be loaded to drink champagne.
Attitudes across Europe differ: the
French prove their love of fashion, with 58% stating that couture clothing is a
symbol of wealth; in Switzerland, 53% rate no mortgage as one of
the greatest signs of affluence; in Spain, 60% of people claim having staff is
a clear statement of wealth while 70% of Austrians think owning a big
house shows you are very rich.
Along with the UK and Austria, only 13% of the
Irish believe that expensive handbags show off real money, compared to 25% of
Belgians. Meanwhile, in the country that tops the rich rankings, 40% of the
Portuguese believe an Armani suit highlights your material assets.
Commenting on the research findings,
a National Lottery spokesperson said: The National Lottery has created
more than 1,900 millionaires in the UK and our biggest winner has pocketed over
£20 million. This week there is a chance to win a whopping £88
million on EuroMillions, which would make just about anyone feel very, very
rich! Weve got our fingers crossed that Friday proves lucky for UK
players.
For your chance to join the jet set,
buy a ticket for this Fridays enormous £88 million estimated
EuroMillions Rollover jackpot. With nine countries now playing the UK,
France, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal and Switzerland
EuroMillions is the worlds biggest multi-national lottery game by
total population eligible to play. To win the EuroMillions jackpot, players
need to match five main numbers from one to 50 and two Lucky Star
numbers from one to nine.
EuroMillions offers a greater range
of prizes than any other National Lottery draw-based game in addition to
the jackpot, there are 11 other prize levels available to win, ranging from a
few pounds to hundreds of thousands of pounds. EuroMillions costs £1.50
to play and the draw is shown every Friday on Challenge TV at 9.55pm.

'Deal or No Deal' Reveals Prizes, Trip to Taping
JEFFERSON CITY, Missouri, USA
(November 29, 2006) -- Now you can "open" your favorite briefcase and
win a chance to go to Hollywood with the Missouri Lotterys new "Deal
or No Deal" Scratchers game, which officially starts Dec. 6.
The game, based on the television
game show by the same name, offers a new elimination-style play action, a
chance to win up to $25,000 cash and a chance to win a trip to see the taping
of the show in California.
"This is the second year for the
popular game show, which is watched by millions," said Bill Burton, instant
game product manager for the Missouri Lottery. "We thought it would be fun
for players to play an instant version of the game and get a chance to win a
trip to see the show live."
Players can send in one non-winning
"Deal or No Deal" Scratchers ticket as an entry into the promotion. One
lucky player will be drawn to win a trip for two to see the taping of "Deal
or No Deal" or he or she can receive the cash value of the prize, which is
$5,000. The trip includes four-day, three-night hotel accommodations in
Hollywood, tickets to attend the taping of the show, round-trip airfare, ground
transportation and $1,000 cash. The drawing date will be announced at a later
date via news release and at molottery.com.
In addition to the grand-prize trip
winner, five other players will win $1,000 tax paid.
To play the new "Deal or No Deal" $2
Scratchers game, players will uncover each of the nine briefcases. Then they
will go to the prize board and uncover the corresponding symbol. If a prize
symbol remains unmatched, then the player wins that prize amount.
"This is the first time
weve had this play action on a game," Burton said. "We think
players will really like it, since it is similar to the way the game show is
played."
