Students Win with Lottery in FY05 Without Ever Buying a
Ticket
LOUISVILLE, Kentucky, USA (October 3,
2005) -- 100% of KLC proceeds to go to college grants and scholarships in
Fiscal Year 06
Students in South Central Kentucky last
year received more than $32 million in college scholarships and grants paid for
by Kentucky Lottery proceeds. This is
according to newly-released figures from the Kentucky Higher Education
Assistance Authority (KHEAA). These funds were used to award more than 23,600
scholarships and grants to South Central Kentucky students.
Statewide, more than $157 million in
Kentucky Lottery proceeds paid for 117,000 scholarships and grants awarded
during the 2005 fiscal year.
90% of the funds awarded by
KHEAA to help students pay for college or technical training in 2005 was made
possible by lottery proceeds, said Dr. Joe L. McCormick, executive
director of the KHEAA These lottery earnings will have a tremendous
impact on Kentucky students' ability to pursue college or technical training
and literally change their lives.

Since the Lottery-funded scholarship and
grant programs first started in 1998, more than 592,000 awards worth $637
million have been distributed to Kentucky students.
"There's no better investment in
Kentucky than helping our young people increase their level of education,"
said KLC President and CEO Arch Gleason. "90% of our proceeds last year went
to pay for these college grant, scholarship and literacy programs. We started a
new chapter in our Corporation's history in July when 100% of our proceeds
started going to these programs.
I'm proud that every dollar we turn
over to the state goes directly to helping Kentucky's best and brightest pursue
their college or technical school degree, said the KLCs
President and CEO Arch Gleason.
Lottery proceeds are used to fund the
Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES) program, College Access
Program (CAP) grants and Kentucky Tuition Grants (KTG). KEES is a merit-based
program, allowing any Kentucky high school student who attends a certified high
school and achieves a 2.5 or higher GPA to earn scholarships to help pay for
higher education at any eligible Kentucky college or technical college. CAP is
a need-based grant program to provide access to Kentuckys financially
neediest students. KTG is a need-based grant program for students attending
Kentuckys independent institutions.

Ohio Lottery to Retire Super Lotto Plus After October 8
Drawing -- If jackpot Not Hit, Cash Option Value to Roll Down to
Winners
CLEVELAND, Ohio, USA (September 26, 2005)
-- The Super Lotto Plus game, the Ohio
Lottery Commissions in-state lotto game, will be retired after the
Saturday, Oct. 8 drawing. Since its debut in 2000, players have shared
almost $631 million in prizes, including 76 jackpot-winning tickets through
Sept. 24.
Weve had a good run with
Super Lotto Plus, says Ohio Lottery spokesperson Mardele Cohen.
Since its beginning on July 15, 2000, the game has seen more than $1
billion in sales and $312 million in profits after prizes and retailer
commissions and bonuses.
Times have changed,
however. Players and retailers have told us they want a lotto game with
more winning experiences, better odds and more ways to win. We knew it was time
to try something new, she says.

Ohio Lottery Commission officials would
like to thank its loyal Super Lotto Plus fans with a special offer for
the last drawing Oct. 8. If that jackpot is not hit, the cash value of
the jackpot prize will be shared proportionately by each lower-tier prize
level. Money allocated to each prize category will be divided equally
among winning tickets held by players in that category.
Even at the $4 million jackpot level ($2
million cash option), winning players will see a significant increase in
prizes.
*Assuming at least one 5 + Bonus Ball
Winner
Each lower-tier prize will share 16.67
percent of the cash value of the jackpot. For instance, if the advertised
jackpot on Oct. 8 is $4 million, the actual cash value of that jackpot is $2
million.

PAC-MAN Licensed Property Game A Sell-Out in Michigan; Pop
Culture Icons Popularity Continues to Soar
ALPHARETTA, Georgia, USA (September 29,
2005) -- Michigan Lottery players gobbled
up the states new PAC-MAN Mania instant ticket, clearing the game
off the shelves in just two weeks. PAC-MAN Mania went on sale in Michigan
on September 6, 2005.
PAC-MAN Mania sales for the initial two
weeks were over $3 million. Sales were exceptional, with the game coming in at
$370,000 above the two-week average of the previous eight games at the same
price point.
PAC-MAN, the ghost-chasing arcade favorite
that kicked off the video game industry over two decades ago, is licensed to
lotteries exclusively by MDI Entertainment, a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Scientific Games Corporation (NASDAQ: SGMS). PAC-MAN
is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year.
We are very pleased that
Michigan saw such great success with this brand, said Steve Saferin,
MDI president. PAC-MANs popularity has continued to increase
since its debut and is now reaching an entire new audience. Michigans
sales are proof that this brand has grown to phenomenal proportions.
Michigans $2 instant ticket featured
10 ways to win up to $20,000 and a chance to instantly win one of 20 PAC-MAN
arcade games. Advertising support for the game included dedicated radio
spots.
Glenn Strong, Michigan Lottery instant
game product manager, said $2 games have been very strong in Michigan this year
with a three percent increase in sales over last year and the PAC-MAN instant
ticket was an excellent game to close out the fiscal year.
PAC-MAN Mania has truly
incited some mania on the part of our players, Strong said.
The game tested well and has performed even better. My only regret is
not printing enough tickets, a fact that Im sure to hear about from our
sales reps at this weeks annual sales conference!
So far, seven other states have included
PAC-MAN in their instant ticket line up and all have done well in sales. This
year, Denmark plans to launch a PAC-MAN instant ticket, making it the first
country outside North America to offer the game.
