Biography:
Johannes (Hans) Savonije has
spent over 25 years with high-profile companies such as Unilever, Coca-Cola,
Beverage Partners Worldwide (a joint venture between Coca-Cola and Nestle). In
his most recent position prior to joining the WLA Savonije built a global
commercial operation at Remy Cointreau, a Paris-based luxury spirits
group.
During his 17 years with Unilever, Savonije lived in six different
countries, adding extensive cross-cultural management experiences to his
repertoire. While working as an executive for the Coca-Cola Company from 1997
through 2006, Savonije, amongst other positions, served as the company’s
division president for Central Europe and the Russian Federation.
He speaks
seven languages, including all four official WLA languages (English, German,
Spanish and French). Savonije is also an avid sportsman, and has sailed across
the Atlantic on several occasions.

Hans Savonije will on 01 October 2008
at the latest take up the position as Executive Director of Northern Europe
(covering Scandinavia, the Baltic Region, Russia, Poland and Germany) with
Royal Unibrew A/S. The appointment of Hans Savonije, who is a Dutch citizen,
will provide the Group with further international expertise and experience
within consumer goods, including beverages.
Hans Savonije has prior to this
employment worked as Executive Director with Unilever, the Coca-Cola Company
and Remy Cointreau in both Eastern and Western Europe. Hans Savonije latest
position has been with World Lotteries
Association (WLA) as Executive Director.
With
the appointment of Hans Savonije the Executive Board of Royal Unibrew A/S will
consist of Poul Møller (CEO), Hans Savonije (Executive Director of
Northern Europe), Povl Friis (Executive Director Technics & Supply) and
Ulrik Sørensen (CFO).
