Biography:
Torbjørn Almlid is 58, and originally
from Trøndelag. He is a qualified veterinarian, has worked as a
researcher and holds a Doctorate in genetic illnesses. He held the posts as
Managing Director of Norsvin (a pig breeding company) for 10 years and Managing
Director of the innovation company BioInn (a bio-innovation company) for 1 year
before changing branches in 1999 when he accepted the post as Managing Director
of Feiringklinikken AS (The Feiring Clinic Ltd). He was later appointed as
Managing Director of Helse Øst (Health Region East), until he took up
the position as CEO of Sykehuset Innlandet (The Innlandet Hospital Trust) in
2003.
