The World Lottery Association represents the interests of some 140 government-controlled lotteries from more than 70 countries with combined annual revenues in excess of $120 billion. As well as providing services to members to help them serve their markets better today and in the future, the WLA's mission includes promoting corporate social responsibility in lottery operations, improving the public’s understanding of lotteries' role in society and responsible gaming issues, lobbying on behalf of its membership with the support of the regional lottery associations, developing partnerships with worldwide sports federations, and setting worldwide standards in such areas as security and risk management.
The World Lottery Association was formed in August 1999 by combining AILE, the International Association of State Lotteries, and Intertoto, the International Association of Toto and Lotto Organizations.

OCTOBER 3-6, 2007
Louisville, Kentucky Hosted by the Kentucky Lottery Corporation

Arch Gleason
Arch Gleason President and CEO of the Kentucky Lottery Corporation President of the World Lottery Association

Louisville, Kentucky is known as the home of many things – the Kentucky Derby, the Louisville Slugger, the Louisville Lip (Muhammad Ali) and the like. It’s now my great pleasure to invite you here to experience what will likely be the premier lottery industry gathering of the year, World Meet 2007.
As the name implies, this rare joint gathering of NASPL and the World Lottery Association (WLA) will bring together more than 1000 delegates, vendors/suppliers and conference participants from every continent on the planet. They will represent the best from gaming organizations around the world, with attendees present from up to 75 countries.
World Meet ’07 will enable you to literally tap into a world of wisdom on how to manage a successful lottery organization. Find out what lotteries from the other side of the planet are doing that could work right in your own backyard. Keynote speakers and break-out sessions will enlighten you to ways your lottery could be more successful.
This year’s trade show will also be a unique experience - large enough to represent the entire lottery industry, yet intimate enough for exhibitors to have access to all attendees. Imagine the potential of the Trade Show that brings together lottery sector decision-makers from all over the world.
Our team at the Kentucky Lottery is well into planning this tremendous event, and I promise it will be a program from which you’ll walk away with new ideas and concepts on how to make your organization stronger.
As you’ll soon see on this website, we’re planning a conference that will help you enhance your work as a lottery professional. Please mark your calendars for October 3rd through the 6th, and come see what Kentucky hospitality is all about.

World Lottery Forum Status
BASEL, Switzerland (October 24, 2005) -- Hurricane Wilma has caused extensive damage to the Cancún area, with lives lost and thousands homeless. The WLA leadership hopes the suffering of those affected can be minimized, but realizes that the current situation is extremely serious.
WLA personnel involved in the World Lottery Forum are currently on site assessing both the condition of the venues and the status of the local infrastructure. Based on these reports, as well as guidance from the Mexican government and the Cancún municipality, the Mexican National Lottery and the WLA leadership will make a determination regarding the World Lottery Forum within the next two days.
Based on the information currently available, it looks likely that the 2005 World Lottery Forum cannot take place as planned. In this case, it is likely that the event will have to be cancelled entirely or postponed until early 2006. A further announcement will be released as soon as a decision is made.
"We apologize for any inconvenience this situation may cause for our members, associate members, speakers and organizers," said WLA President Reidar Nordby, Jr., "but we are sure that they share our thoughts for the victims in this disaster. We will make all our efforts to organize a world-class congress when life returns to normal."
