WLA 2010 Conference News

The World Lottery Association 2010 Convention and Trade Show starts this weekend. We look forward to welcoming you to Brisbane!
Please find below some important information about airport shuttle services, registration and weekend social events.
Airport Shuttle Bus:
Arrivals: An airport shuttle service will operate on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October, between 0600 and 1800.
This shuttle service will drop passengers at all official Convention hotels: Sofitel, Stamford Plaza, Conrad Treasury, Oaks Casino Towers, Rydges and Mantra.
If your flight arrives outside the scheduled times, you will need to arrange your own transport to your hotel. Taxis are available from the Domestic and International airports as is the Air Train, which departs regularly, with stops near the Sofitel (Central Station) and the Rydges / Mantra hotels (South Brisbane station).
Registration Desk
The registration desk at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre will be open on Saturday 30 October from 1400 to 1700 and Sunday 31 October from 1300 to 1800.
We recommend you register on these days to avoid queuing on Monday morning.
A registration shuttle service will operate between the Convention hotels and the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre between 1330 and 1530 on Saturday and 1300 and 1530 on Sunday.
Trade Show Opening and Opening Dinner
A shuttle service has been arranged to transport delegates from the Convention hotels to the official opening of the Trade Show and Opening Dinner on the evening of Sunday 31 October.
Services will depart from the Sofitel at 1615, 1630 and 1640; Conrad Treasury/Oaks Casino Towers at 1615, 1630 and 1645; and Stamford Plaza at 1620, 1635 and 1650.
The Trade Show opening offers a unique opportunity to see our unique Australian wildlife and have your photo taken with a koala – don’t miss out!
President’s Cup Golf Tournament, Sunday 31 October
If you have registered to participate in the President’s Cup Golf Tournament, buses will depart from the Convention hotels at the following times.
Rydges: 0545
Treasury/Oaks: 0550
Sofitel: 0600
Arrive Hope Island: 0715
Return: 1430
Brisbane City Sights Tour, Sunday 31 October
If you have registered to participate in the Brisbane City Sights tour, buses will depart from the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre at 0900. Please make your way to the Convention Centre to meet this tour. Brisbane City Sights Tour
All buses depart from the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Glenelg Street, South Brisbane.
Accommodation
For those delegates who have booked accommodation at the Convention hotels, your check in time is 1400, check out is by 1000.
Airport Shuttle Bus:
Departures: Delegates requiring a bus transfer from their hotel to the airport on Saturday 6 November should register their requirements at the Tours desk on registration. Shuttles have been arranged between 0600 and 1700 on Saturday 6 November only. If your flight departs outside the scheduled times, you will need to arrange your own transport to the airport.

Online Registration For WLA 2010 Convention And Trade Show Extended!
BRISBANE, Qld., Australia (October 19, 2010) -- Due to demand Tatts Lotteries’ Golden Casket and the World Lottery Association (WLA) have announced that online registration for WLA 2010 has been extended until 22 October!
Tatts Lotteries Chief Executive Mr Bill Thorburn said this decision was taken to ensure that delegates don’t miss the opportunity to participate in WLA 2010 Convention and Trade Show – the industry’s biennial Convention.
WLA 2010 offers a rare opportunity to connect with industry representatives from around the world in one city, and under one roof,” he said.
We are expecting more than 800 delegates from all over the world to come and join us in Brisbane, Australia for a week of networking, learning and sharing.
We don’t want anyone to miss out on this biennial event and highly recommend to those who haven’t yet booked to do so quickly as hotels in Brisbane are selling fast due to other major events across the city.
