Number of Lottery Jackpot Winners in Oklahoma Ranks Among Top in the
Nation
State Ranked #1 in Hot
Lotto and #5 in Powerball
OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma (December 8,
2009) Are Oklahomans luckier than residents of other states? According
to the statistics, we seem to be. In Hot Lotto, the
Oklahoma Lottery is number
one in the nation with an overall frequency of 1.6 jackpot winners per year in
the nearly two years we have offered the game.
In
Powerball, the Lottery ranks
fifth of 33 lotteries, with an overall frequency of one jackpot winner per year
in the nearly four years since the game started in Oklahoma.
As a young lottery - only
four years old - our rate of jackpot winners is astounding, said
Jim Scroggins,
executive director of the Oklahoma Lottery. You never know whos
going to win but weve been fortunate to have a number of Oklahomans
experience the excitement of a big ticket prize.
Oklahoma launched Powerball on
January 12, 2006, and Hot Lotto on January 5, 2008. In both games,
Oklahomas frequency of jackpot winners has been remarkable as it
surpasses those states that have had the games for a greater number of years.
Many participating states
have played Powerball for 10 to 15 years and only had one winner,
said Scroggins. Its this kind of a mystery that makes the games
more thrilling to play because the winner could be you - but you cant win
if you dont play.
Today the Oklahoma Lottery is still
searching for the owners of two big Powerball tickets. A winning Powerball
ticket was sold in Kiowa worth $32.8M while another winning Powerball ticket
worth $1M was sold in Enid. There is also a $6.8M Hot Lotto ticket from Norman,
which has not been claimed.
Winners have 180 days from the day
of the drawing to claim their prize at the Oklahoma Lottery Headquarters,
located at 3817 N. Santa Fe in Oklahoma City. For more information, visit
www.lottery.ok.gov.

Svenska Spel Strengthens Responsible Gaming with New Age
Limit
STOCKHOLM, Sweden (December 10,
2009) - Svenska Spel
introduces an 18-year-old age limit for the purchase of lottery tickets.
Svenska Spel's Board of Directors decided on the new age limit on 2 December
and it will enter into effect in 2010. With Wednesday's decision, all of
Svenska Spel's products, in all sales channels, will have an age limit.
Corporate social
responsibility is an important cornerstone of Svenska Spels business. Our
ambition is to minimise underage gambling wherever it may occur. To do so we
must also be clear and consistent in our view of gaming and age limits,
particularly towards our business partners and customers, says
Meta Persdotter, CEO
of Svenska Spel.
Today, Svenska Spel has an
18-year-old age limit for Oddset games stipulated in its permit.
On 1 February 2007, the company
independently took the initiative to also introduce age
limits on other sports games and
number games in the retail trade. For games on
svenskaspel.se and Vegas gaming
machines, an 18-year-old age limit already applies, while Casino Cosmopol has a
20-year-old age limit.
This age limit makes both handling
and age checks in shops easier.
For some time, we have
conducted a dialogue with representatives of the service and
convenience goods trade, and this
decision is in line with the industrys own demands for a uniform age
limit and that the handling of games and lotteries follow the rules that apply
for other goods with age limits, says Håkan Sjöstrand,
Business Area Manager at Svenska Spel.
This decision will also have an
effect on the possibilities of associations to sell lottery tickets.
Our cooperation with sports
clubs is important to us and the new age limit means that in
future we will invest more
resources on the development of subscription and Internet
partner services, as well as the
sale of game and lottery tickets within the scope of our
arena games. Associations and
clubs that can handle the age check of games and lotteries in accordance with
current rules can continue to sell our products.
Svenska Spel currently has
approximately 6,800 representatives who sell Svenska Spels
lottery tickets and cooperation
agreements with around 3,000 associations in Sweden that
sell Triss lottery tickets, among
others.
For more information, please

+46-70-314 71 11 or Johan Tisell, Chief Information Officer, Svenska Spel, tel.
+46-70-322 55 21.
Comments from the service and
convenience goods trade:
This is a very welcome
initiative that provides clearer rules for retailers and facilitates
handling and consequently a more
effective control of the age limits in the retail trade."
Pär Bygdeson, President of the
Swedish Food Retail Association (SSLF), tel. +46-76-147 7300.
"This decision is positive for
two reasons on one hand, shop employees need not think
about different age limits for
different products, and on the other, it signals a shared view
that all gambling can potentially
lead to problems and that there should therefore also be an age limit on
lottery tickets.

trade association Svensk Servicehandel & Fast Food, tel.

Louisiana Lottery Partners With Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club for
New Mardi Gras Scratch-off
BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (December 15,
2009) - Lottery President Rose Hudson and Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club Assistant
Recording Secretary Jay H. Banks hold an oversized replica of the new Mardi
Gras scratch-off game bearing the clubs name and parade characters.
Deep-rooted Louisiana heritage,
jubilant celebrations and a commitment to community service aren't the only
things the Louisiana Lottery and the
historical Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club, Inc. have in common. On
Dec. 14, a festive carnival-themed scratch-off ticket can be added to that
list.
"In partnering with the Zulu
Social Aid and Pleasure Club to develop a Mardi Gras scratch-off game, the
Louisiana Lottery has once again created a win-win strategic branding
opportunity that not only generates proceeds for the state, but also highlights
Louisiana's unique cultural assets," said Lottery President Rose Hudson.
The Zulu scratch-off is a $2 game
with five top prizes of $10,000 and more than $1 million in total cash
prizes. The colorful ticket features the three major Zulu characters in
full parade regalia. First and foremost is the King, the pinnacle of
carnival, who represents the aspiration of every man. Next is the Big Shot,
known for his flamboyant dress and spectacular diamond doorknob ring; he is
easily recognizable on the ticket by his large cigar and traditional derby hat.
They are accompanied by the Witch Doctor, whose chief responsibility is to
ensure good weather throughout the Mardi Gras season and specifically on Mardi
Gras Day.
"Featuring Zulu's name and icons
on a Lottery scratch-off game enhances our profile throughout the state and
highlights our illustrious 100-year history," said Zulu Social Aid and
Pleasure Club Assistant Recording Secretary Jay H. Banks. "It's also a
natural marriage of brands because both Zulu and the Lottery are known for fun
and excitement; they both also greatly benefit our community. While Lottery
proceeds help fund public education, Zulu and its 700 members demonstrate
social aid with multiple community improvement projects, ranging from hurricane
recovery to student mentoring and many others."
As part of its partnership with
Zulu, the Lottery will give away the ride of a lifetime, a ride on a float in
the 2010 Zulu Mardi Gras parade for one player and a guest. From Dec. 14, 2009
to Jan. 30, 2010, members of the Lottery's free online players club, Club
Lotteaux, can log into the password-protected site to take the Zulu Mardi Gras
Trivia Challenge, a series of multiple choice questions about the parade's
history. One winner who answers correctly will be randomly selected to win the
giveaway. No purchase is necessary.
Players must be at least 21 years
old to purchase a Lottery ticket or participate in the promotion. The
Lottery encourages anyone who has a gambling problem or friends and family of
anyone with a gambling problem to call toll-free 1-877-770-7867 for help. For
security purposes, the Lottery also encourages players to sign the back of
their tickets immediately after purchasing.

In this context,
SAZKA, a.s., (SAZKA) points
out that, if enacted, the Bill would make it impossible to broadcast motion
pictures such as Oceans Eleven, starring George
Clooney, Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts, or Casino Royale,
starring Daniel Craig, via on-demand audiovisual media services in the future.
The amendment directly contravenes
the explanatory statement by the Government of the Czech Republic, which refers
to the valid Directive of the European Parliament and the Council of the
European Union on Audiovisual Media Services, and explicitly states that
betting games that require a monetary stake, including lotteries, bets
and other forms of gambling services, as well as on-line games and Internet
search engines are excluded from the legislation proposed.
The ban on the advertising of
betting games and lotteries, at which the amendment indirectly aims, would lead
to a dramatic fall in the revenue of the general interest sector, which would
consequently lose more than CZK 1 billion a year.
When that times socialist
Czechoslovakia proceeded to a similar move in 1961, the restrictions were
lifted as early as 1963, and the reason was the drop in payments to good
causes.
