Anthony Sadberry

Biography:
Anthony Sadberry previously served as a Commissioner with the Texas Lottery Commission (TLC) from 1993-2001 before recently being named Acting Executive Director by the Commission. He began serving in that capacity on January 17, 2006. In addition to his public service to the state, he brings more than 28 years of private practice in the legal profession.
Anthony attended public school in his native Burleson County, until his family moved to Houston during his senior year. After graduating from North Shore High School in 1968, he continued his education by attending Navarro Junior College until his graduation with honors with an Associate’s degree in Science. He then attended the University of Texas in Austin graduating with honors in 1972 with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Education. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. in 1975.
He began his legal career as an Assistant Attorney General with Office of the Attorney General of Texas in 1975. He began private practice in Houston, Texas, in 1977 and worked in several law firms, including: Sullivan, King, Henri & Sadberry, P.C., Oldenettel & Sadberry, P.C., Soules & Wallace, P.C. and Epstein Becker & Green, P.C.
During his career, he was called upon to lecture on several faculties, such as; the State Bar of Texas Advanced Civil Trial Course, the State Bar of Texas Ultimate Trial Notebook Seminar, the University of Houston Law School Advanced Evidence Course, the South Texas School of Law Personal Injury Seminar, and the University of Houston Law School Trial Advocacy Seminar.
Honors he achieved during his educational and occupational careers include: President of the Student Body of Navarro Junior College, National Officer of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, Vice President of the Student Body of the University of Texas, Director of the State Bar of Texas Advanced Civil Trial Course, elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates and received the Georgetown Paul R. Dean Outstanding Alumni Award. He served on the Texas Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Rules of Civil Procedure, the State Bar of Texas Pattern Jury Charges Committee and the State Bar of Texas Rules Committee.
Anthony is a fourth generation landowner of Burleson County, Texas, where he still maintains a family residence. He and Denise Sadberry, his wife of 28 years, have a daughter, Andrea Joi.
