Biography: Buddy Roogow was
appointed to the position of Director of the Maryland State Lottery in October,
1996 by Governor Parris N. Glendening.
His prior positions include Deputy Chief of Staff,
Office of the Governor (1995-1996); Director of Operations Office of the
Governor (1991-1995); Chief Administrative Officer, Howard County Government
(1988-1991); Deputy, Chief Administrative Officer, Howard County Government
(1987-1988); Administrative Services Manager, Howard County Department of
Public Works (1980-1987); Administrator, Harrison County Commission,
Clarksburg, West Virginia (1978-1980; County Planner/Assistant Planning
Director, Harrison County Planning Commission, Clarksburg, West Virginia
(1976-1978); Project Planner with Dalton, Dalton, Little and Newport
(1973-1976); Instructor, University of Maryland College Park (1973-1976);
Researcher, President's Council on Management Improvement (1972).
Roogow received a Bachelor's degree from the
University of Maryland in 1971 and was awarded a Master of Arts degree from the
University of Maryland in 1973.
