Biography: Vic Poleschuk, Former
President and CEO British Columbia Lottery
Corporation
Vic Poleschuk, President and CEO Vic Poleschuk was
selected to head the British Columbia Lottery Corporation as President and
Chief Executive Officer and officially assumed the position on October 1, 1999,
to succeed retiring President, Guy Simonis.
Poleschuk began his career in the lottery industry in
1979 with Western Canada Lottery Foundation. In 1985, BCLC's start-up year, he
joined the Corporation as Vice President responsible for finance,
administration and information systems.
Over the next 14 years, Poleschuk shared his in-depth
lottery experience and demonstrated his leadership qualities as the Corporation
grew in scope and annual revenues. In 1998, BCLC assumed new responsibilities
to conduct and manage casinos and electronic and linked bingo. He was appointed
Chief Operating Officer in June 1999.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Poleschuk is a graduate of
the University of Manitoba Commerce program and has a background in accounting
and finance.
He, his wife and four children are active in the
Kamloops community, home to BCLC's head office. His contributions as volunteer
President of the Kamloops 1993 Canada Games Society were recognized with the
Governor General of Canada's Order of Meritorious Service Medal in 1997.
