The Vermont Lottery: has one of the smallest staffs of any lottery in the United States. It consists of twenty full-time staff members and five commissioners. There are fourteen in-house staff members and six sales representatives.
The lottery consists of various departments including sales, marketing, accounting, administration and information technology.

Public referendums:
In 1976 a referendum was held regarding the establishment of a state run lottery. Sixty-six percent of those casting ballots voted in favor of it.

Executive Director: Alan R. Yandow
In July 1998, Alan R. Yandow was appointed Executive Director. As Director, he is responsible for lottery operations, regulations and policies. He is also instrumental in the Tri-State Lotto Commission.
Before joining the Lottery, Yandow was with Burlington Electric Department for eighteen (18) years in various staff and management roles in marketing and customer service.
He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Vermont.
