Law on Commercial Lotteries to Come Into Force Next Year
ESTONIA (July 2003) -- The Saeima has passed the law on commercial lottery of goods and services in the final reading.
The law stipulates to impose the state's due of 25 percent of the prize fund of lottery, if the total value of prize fund exceeds LVL 500.
The law will come into force on January 1, next year. It will the be forbidden to organise trade lotteries for advertising alcoholic beverages, tobacco, pharmaceutical products and beer, moreover, the mentioned goods will not be allowed to be the prizes of a lottery.
