How to play LOTTO MAX
LOTTO MAX is the nationwide Canadian lottery game that starts with a $10 million jackpot. When a jackpot reaches $50 million, LOTTO MAX goes into MAXMILLIONS™ mode. When in MAXMILLIONS™ mode, each $1 million over the $50 million will be drawn as an individual $1 million prize, called MAXMILLIONS™.
For a $5 play you receive three selections of seven numbers ranging from 1 to 49. You can choose your first selection of seven numbers, with Quick Pick providing the other two selections of numbers, or you can choose to have all three selections by Quick Pick. Each selection is good for the Main Jackpot, each prize category and any MAXMILLIONS™ for that draw.
Say "YES" to add Extra for a chance to win $500,000. $1 per Extra selection, up to ten. Make things more interesting by learning more about the many ways to play!
How to win
LOTTO MAX is a weekly draw that takes place every Friday. Sales end at 6 p.m. PST.
Seven numbers plus a Bonus number are drawn from 1 to 49 for the Main Jackpot followed by seven numbers for each MAXMILLIONS™ draw, if in MAXMILLIONS™ mode.
In order to win any jackpot, you must match 7/7 numbers (from 1 to 49).
Bonus number
The Bonus number is the eighth number drawn. There are two prize categories for the Bonus number.
In one selection of seven numbers, matching six of the Main Jackpot numbers drawn plus the Bonus number wins the 6/7+ category, or matching three numbers of the Main Jackpot numbers drawn plus the Bonus number wins the 3/7+ category.
The Bonus number does not apply to any other prize categories.
MAXMILLIONS™
An additional seven numbers are drawn for each MAXMILLIONS™ jackpot.
Matching seven of the seven numbers drawn for the corresponding $1 million MAXMILLION™ jackpot wins that jackpot. Each MAXMILLION has its own draw of seven numbers.

LOTTO MAX Launches - New Canadian lottery game now available for play
Richmond BC, (September 18, 2009) – Canada's new national lottery – LOTTO MAX – officially launches tomorrow, Saturday, September 19 2009, with the first day of ticket sales from coast to coast. In B.C., LOTTO MAX can be played at BCLC retail locations across the province. The first LOTTO MAX draw will be held on Friday, September 25 with a $10 million jackpot.
As announced on behalf of Canada's five regional lottery corporations by the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation (ILC), LOTTO MAX will offer big jackpots more frequently than any game before. And for the first time ever with a Canadian lottery, this newest introduction to the national lottery line-up will offer special additional prizes of $1 million each once the jackpot reaches $50 million.
When a LOTTO MAX jackpot reaches the $50 million mark, it will kick into MAXMILLIONS mode: the jackpot will remain at $50 million with top-prize money then being allocated to a series of additional MAXMILLIONS prizes each worth $1 million, and each with its own individual draw and set of winning numbers.

• Draws will be held on Friday nights, starting September 25
• Players will receive three chances to win (seven numbers each) per $5 play
• In order to win the jackpot, players must match 7/7 numbers (from one to 49)
• Odds of winning a jackpot are one in 28.6 million per play
• Odds of winning any prize are one in 6.6 per play
• Jackpots start at $10 million
• If a jackpot is not won it will "roll" to the next draw date, with MAXMILLIONS prizes created after the $50 million mark is reached
