APLA Seminar in Phuket Re-Scheduled to 23-26 August 2010

The APLA EXCO together with The Government Lottery Office (GLO), Thailand, has decided to re-convene the Seminar in Phuket from 23 to 26 Aug 2010.
The hotel remains unchanged.

Tatts Lotteries’ Golden Casket Announce WLA 2010 Registration Opening
BRISBANE, Queensland, Australia (March 5, 2010) -- Tatts Lotteries’ Golden Casket, host lottery for the WLA 2010 Convention and Trade Show, and the World Lottery Association (WLA) announce that registration for this bi-annual event is now open!
"This being the key international lottery industry conference, registrations are expected to fill up quickly as the sector enters into a bright new phase," said Mr. Bill Thorburn, Chief Executive of Tatts Lotteries.
“WLA 2010 is being held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, a world class purpose built venue that will provide WLA 2010 conference delegates with a convenient and comfortable location,” added Mr. Thorburn.

Brisbane to host World Lottery Association convention and trade show in 2010
Lottery officials from around the world will converge on Brisbane for the World Lottery Association (WLA) Convention and Trade Show in 2010 after Golden Casket Lottery Corporation won the bid for the prestigious event.
Golden Casket is the licensed lottery operator for the state of Queensland and is part of Tatts Lotteries, the lottery business unit of major Australian company Tatts Group Limited.
The WLA 2010 Convention and Trade Show will bring together senior officials from lottery organisations around the globe to make contact with commercial peers, share knowledge and discuss future developments of the vibrant lottery industry.
Brisbane is an attractive destination for both local and international delegates with amazing natural attractions, a beautiful climate and sophisticated outdoor lifestyle.
The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC), recognised as one of the world’s leading convention centres, will be the venue for the conference. The BCEC is a modern, purpose-built, first class venue offering superb flexibility and versatility, allowing the entire program for the WLA 2010 Convention and Trade Show to be comfortably accommodated under the one roof.

Tatts Lotteries and Golden Casket Chief Executive Bill Thorburn said the convention would provide a number of opportunities for Golden Casket and Brisbane.
“Hosting the WLA 2010 convention will help to strengthen Tatts Lotteries’ ties within the lottery industry,” Mr Thorburn said.
“It will also expose our staff to the international lotteries industry and will provide unique opportunities for staff to develop new skills in a range of areas,” he said.
“The event will also give Brisbane the opportunity to showcase the exceptional facilities, lifestyle and natural attractions on offer to international visitors.”
Golden Casket and Tattersall’s are long standing members of the WLA and have hosted a number of international WLA events. Golden Casket has been operating in Queensland for over 90 years and is one of Australia's oldest lotteries.
